Say what?

I got a call from a number I did not know so I didn't pick up the phone. I checked my voicemail and it turned out to be a call from Spectrum letting me know there is an important change in the status of our account. With the iPhone you can see the transcription of the voicemail messages someone leaves. In the transcription of this message aside from the normal text regarding my account and being asked to call them I saw this: ...thundering going back to bed can you see ya address on Chelsea sees glad to seeing called to say Josie's basement speak...but I get done with this...you have mess yes yes... Who is Josie? And what's going on in her basement? How in the world did they come up with this text? I am sure the automated bot said no such thing in the actual voicemail.

Ooooo, I wouldn't want to know what's going on in any stranger's basement including Josie.

I don't think I'd want to know either. But I wonder what the automated bot was saying to make the transcription think it was this text that was being said.

@lovebuglena Yes, That would be an interesting mystery to solve.

Sounds like a scam call. Don't give them any info. Even if you didn't pay your bill, I've never heard of Spectrum calling.

Nope. We always get an automated message call from Spectrum when hubby doesn't pay the bill.

@lovebuglena I'm surprised they let you pay the bill. Usually the cable/satellite companies want an autopay with a credit card.

@LindaOHio Spectrum, we pay ourselves monthly, if hubby doesn't forget. There may be an autopay option but it's not a requirement. They can't force you to opt into that.

That seems really weird. Aren't you just a bit curious about the basement?

There is a part of me that is curious but I don't think I'd wanna go down there.

It's another type of scam, you don't have additional charges on your Spectrum account. They want to get personal information, don't tell them anything.

This is definitely not a scam because hubby did not pay our Spectrum bill. We received an actual bill after that letting us know we didn't pay them.
