While watching the second last stage of the Tour D’France cycle race yesterday, which started in Lacapelle and ended in Rocamadour, a place name very new to me, I was googling it in a flash.
Upon a cliff face in south-central France lies this beautiful picturesque village which apparently has attracted pilgrims for hundreds of years including kings, nobles and bishops. Don’t take my word for it, you are invited to google it yourself because you will be amazed and what little jewel of a place this is!
I was completely mesmerized by the fantastic helicopter views of the place during the whole stage of the cycle tour; the commentators were enlightening us of all the sights to see, steps to climb, goats cheese to taste, bird park to visit and much much more if one visited the area.
I have read that the “The First Musketeer” series was filmed in 2014 in this quaint and beautiful area. The Chateau de Bonaguil, The Chateau de Losse and The Chateau de Fumel are all part of the scenes during this series. They are breathtakingly medieval stunning! Now to find this series so that I can watch some more of Rocamadour from my couch!
Have you ever wished to visit some place very special?

Rocamadour is called "La cité Réligieuse" (The Religious City) it is a complex of religious buildings. The narrow roads are identical (no difference) from the narrow roads of "Le Rocher" of Monte Carlo, where there is the residence of the Prince.

A special place indeed. Love to visit someday. Have you been to or heard of Angkor Wat in Cambodia? I've been there once. It's so beautiful.
