Update and trying to be here more often

Wow, I thought with summer break I would have time to be here. But instead, between water aerobics and cleaning this house, I barely have time for myself. However, I have good news. I am still working for the same school, but in a different building that is only a couple miles away from home, and I am getting a raise and benefits. (even better is the grade is elementary, the age group I wanted when I started working. ) My son is supposed to move out, making cleaning the house much easier and I am hoping to make Sunday mornings my time with MyLot. My one daughter recently bought a house near me, so I now have a dog sitter got my girls. However, my oldest daughter is moving about 2 hours away at the end of August. My older son's girlfriend is having a baby in October, my first granddaughter.. So I have a mixture of sad and happy news since I was here last. I am hoping all is well with everyone and that I can reconnect with old friends as well as get to know new friends.

You're right, that's quite a mix of things happening around you. I'm glad you are finally getting the age group you wanted, the raise and benefits are also nice. Yeah, a mix of good and bad with your kids. Congrats on the new granddaughter in October. There are a variety of old and new on myLot now... I've been enjoying my time here. It's nice to see you again.

It is good to see you and thank you. I am looking forward to this job. The only thing that concerns me is the last teacher spoiled me. She was super nice, encouraging, and we got along really well. I can only hope to get along with this new teacher.

@DaddyEvil True, I hope it doesn't come to that though.

It's good to see you back here. And that's good news about the change at work.

Oh, absolutely, plus less chance of getting hurt with elementary children. Not sure if you remember, but a year ago March, my middle school special needs student hit my head hard enough to cause a concussion. Thankfully workman's comp took care of the medical bills.

@JudyEv Yeah, and I had to explain I work in a special needs room because some people were angry, thinking it was a student who knew better. I have to be truthful though, as much as I am glad I don't have to take care of this student (he was a handful and needed lots of care) I am going to miss him.

Oh yeah, many changes. Another is, if not within a couple weeks, at least by the end of the year we will be empty nesters.

@RubyHawk They are not leaving at once, my first 3 are already living on their own. My other children rent, but the one daughter had bought her own house. If I had all 4 living here and all 4 moving away at once, that would break my heart..lol Makes my wonder about parents of twins, triples, or more. They more than likely would move out, if not the same time, then within months of one another.

@Carmelanirel2 All your children leaving at once will be kinda sad.

I can relate, life gets in the way, doesn't it? Like today, I have some time to be here, which is rare for a weekday.
