Got hooked!

I took a social media break. Deactivated my instagram account, twitter still active but never opened it. No mylot and no other earning sites as well.
Got myself into this hobby that I find really addictive. Crochet!
I used to really like those bichon frises from South Korea wearing fancy collars. And actually for many years I've searched for a very similar one online and in different pet shops here to no avail. Then last month, out of the blue, I took out my old crochet hook and some leftover yarns and started making fancy collars with the help of YouTube. And I got hooked!

@LadyDuck i have that issue with Yuki but as you may know already, Danie loves it. Danie always thinks that when i put a collar or a dress on her, it means she’d go to the mall.

@toniganzon I know it would not be easy to place the collar on the car neck, but I will arrive.

@JudyEv oooh beanies! I remember making them when I started a few years ago but people here don't wear beanies coz it's too hot. And we don't use wool. Not unless you live in the mountain areas here with much cooler weather. I love wearing bucket hats but they're made of cotton or acrylic.

@toniganzon I'm making beanies using up some wool I was given. I'll probably donate them to op/thrift shops.

@averygirl72 i only make those that i want to use. Don’t like the cellphone holders coz i don’t use one. I love collecting bucket hats and they’re from branded companies and super expensive. But now i make my own and it’s a perfect size and fit too. I love collecting bikinis as well.

3 or 4 years ago i was into it but lost interest as well. But now, i am back and i dont think I’d lose interest coz i have created not only fancy collars for my dogs, i have made my own bucket hat and they’re so pretty. And i plan to make my own blouse as well. I am overwhelmed with so many choices of yarns and I’m very glad to know that i don’t have to just stick to acrylic which is very hot.

Many years back, when people find you doing some needle work they refer to you as an old woman or a spinster. NO idea why. But that didn't held me back. I learned embroidery and crochet when I was in great school and it was something I enjoyed back then. I just didn't take it as a hobby when I was in my teens as I enjoyed going out with friends more than staying at home doing needle work.

You may get hooked on it but I'd rather you didn't stay away from others like mylotting, Instagram, etc.

It was great that I stayed away from my soc med. Sometimes, a breather is necessary.

Thanks. And you are right, we do need to take a break from time to time. There's so much to enjoy about life and our world outside the social media.

When i disappear from mylot, I’m usually just taking a break and as long as i am still breathing, i will always come back. I really love this new hobby of mine.

It's very easy. I actually learned from Home Economics class when I was in grade school. But never really took it as a hobby. Tried it again about four years ago, but never really produced anything nice and got frustrated so I gave up. Then I went back to it a month ago and realized what got me frustrated and now I'm just enjoying it.
The basic is actually very easy and YouTube has actually a lot of videos that could help. The most important thing to know first so you wouldn't get frustrated is known the right hook and yarn to use for beginners.
