Friendship is a Gift

July is the month, for our family, that is packed with birthdays. My best friend just celebrated her birthday a couple of weeks ago.
We often give gifts to people on their birthday. I took my friend out for supper. We had such a great time. As we sat there laughing and talking, I realized that although, she is to get gifts on her birthday, she is the one who is, actually, the gift.
My friend prays with me and for me. She encourages me, corrects me, helps me, and serves Christ with me. She is one of those people who just makes my life better.
Anyone else have a friend like that?

When did you meet your best-friend? In my case, I met my best-friend when we were in sixth grade.

@Dreamerby yes the months of the year have been surrounded with many myths and stories about people born in a certain month exhibit certain personalities etc

@Dreamerby yes that, one true friend is what matters the most. We can have more than one best friends by the way. And they are all true friends.

I was pondering this over in my mind, this morning. My granddaughter, Taylor, is my best friend. She is an amazing young lady and I'm so proud of her! She has always been there for me, throughout the years:) This friendship is a gift from God!

I love this. What a great relationship. I though that my youngest daughter and I were really great friends. I thought she loved me as much as I love her, but one day she informed me that was not the case and she moved out. It caught me completely off guard. That was about a year ago. OUr relationship is ok now, but I hardly ever hear from her. It is cordial when I do and she is nice but it is obvious that she doesn't want me to be a real part of her life. I just pray for her and take whatever time she will allow me to have with her. My best friend, Carolyn, has been a great support through it all. She listens to me share my broken and heart and prays with me and for my daughter. Her support encouraged me to move past heartbreak and be thankful for the close years I had with my daughter. Those memories can never be taken away. And I still have my oldest two daughters who make sure to include me in their lives.

What you said about the friend is actually a gift is very nice and a true meaning of a best friend.It's good that you have someone like that in your life who support each other to the fullest.I do have 2 best friend like that who I can confide,trust and stays with you through thick and thin.One is a true friend and the other is my mom.

Amen! I’m also blessed with a wonderful circle of life long friendships. Also I’m lucky as a lot of my cousins are my friends as well. Every time I’m doubting I just remember my blessings (them) and continue with a smile and confidence. I’m glad you also have that going for you in your life!
