Well that must have been awkward

not to mention being totally hypocritical. Glenn Thompson is a Republican congressman from Pennsylvania. He, along with 156 other GOP representatives, voted against the Respect for Marriage Act which put the right to same-sex and interracial officially into law. Then, just three days later, he attended his son's marriage. . . to another man. Yup--a same sex marriage! His spokesperson said that Thompson was "thrilled" to attend the ceremony and that he and his wife were "very happy" to welcome a son-in-law into the family. No. Seriously. 3 days after voting to put the right of same-sex couples into written law he had the audacity to then show up at one and claim to be thrilled about it. Hey I honestly don't care what this guy thinks about same sex marriage but he needs to pick a lane and stay in it. Either he is against it and he stands by that or he supports it and attends a same-sex wedding ceremony and celebrates the couple. I just don't see how someone can vote against making it legal in the law and then show their face just days later claiming to be thrilled about it.
GOP Rep. Glenn Thompson attended his gay son's wedding last week, three days after opposing a bill in the US House that would enshrine protections for same-sex marriage into federal law, CNN has confirmed.

I have always felt the further right a politician gets the more loony they get. Same over here, despite the increasing difficulties and economic damage, our bunch insist all is well

Maybe when he voted against it he was showing his TRUE feelings.
