My Old Girl Chloe

Cats have always been a part of my life, since an old cat called Tinker chose to live with my family when I was ten. In more recent years, many of you came to know my ginger boy Smooch, then my naughty boy Charlie. Now there is Chloe. She came to live with me a few months after my husband passed away three years ago. She was nearly eight at the time and I met her at the SPCA animal shelter. Chloe and I were meant to be together. We were both in need of love and cuddles at the time and certainly had plenty of both to give each other. I don't think I've ever had such an affectionate cat. I laugh and tell her we're two old ladies together. Chloe is nearly eleven now, and showing signs of aging. We seem to have regular visits to the vet for her old lady problems. She's certainly not enjoying this current rainy period we're experiencing and spends much of the time curled up asleep on her favourite red blanket. But, on a good day, she likes to sit outside and watch the birds. Remembering her more active days, no doubt. So, Chloe is now well established as the light of my life.
