We see it often. Blatant vandalism.
Bored teenagers. People who have nothing exciting happening in their lives. They have no aspirations, no prospects in life. They turn to vandalism which impacts on the lives of others.
On this occasion you can see that the childrens play equipment was burnt to the ground. It hasn’t destroyed all the equipment, but the entire site has had to be closed on health and safety grounds until it can be restored.
New equipment may be installed. They could put something completely different there, but it is important to replace these facilities.

This would be so maddening. It's a pity they can't find some other way to spend their time.

This happens all over the world unfortunately. The community needs to get together and when the new equipment gets installed, cameras and a security fence needs to be installed as well. And then lock the playground at night. That’s how we solved it in my community.
