Y'know that's a gay bar/club right?

I just put my resume and cover letter in at Marys Poppin. It is an LGBTQIA+ friendly bar/nightclub. They operate from 9PM - 3AM (Sometimes 5AM) on Friday and Saturday. That'd be awesome for me I could work Friday and Saturday, recover Sunday and then go to uni on Monday.
Someone had to ask "Y'know that's a gay bar right?" yes I am well aware it is a gay bar and that is one of the reasons I applied there. It is one of the only bars/clubs that I would actually feel comfortable working at. Good thing I requested a police check funding with my job provider already. Wonder if I can ask them for help with an RSA because that would help.
I'm still not getting my hopes up too much because of how many rejections from jobs I have had. Let's see how it goes.

@Fa_Maverick Oh, come on! You could have made up anything you wanted to tell Allen and you chose to tell him the truth?

There was back-of-bar, bartending or door staff. So washing glasses, serving drinks or greeting patrons.

@Fa_Maverick It is better to let people know, I know that some people would not want to work there.

Yeah, they said cause they'd have an issue working there. It did have in big bold letters that they are a queer club on the application page too, granted I am sure people would still miss it.

Why would it matter what kind of bar it was to the person that asked that? There's nothing wrong with working in a gay bar. Did the person somehow think the people that go there would knock you down and rape you or something? That's just weird!
Good luck! I hope you find a job soon.

The person that asked me has a bit of an issue with queer people and thought I should know that it is a queer bar before they potentially contacted me about the job... awkward given I am queer and am well aware of the fact it is a queer bar. The fact it is a queer club actually makes me feel more comfortable about working there.

@Fa_Maverick I've had people tell me that a friend was gay before... I had to ask what that mattered. Gay people are usually nicer than a lot of straight people. If one of them does make a pass, they always stop if you tell them you aren't interested, unlike some of the straight women I've known. Just because I'm straight doesn't really mean I'll go to bed with any woman who asks... or tries to force me.

@DaddyEvil I know right it is scary how many women think that men want to go to bed with them just because they are a woman. No sorry ladies, men aren't actually kitty-crazed satyromaniacs. It's almost like consent works both ways. If C wasn't interested nothing would happen because I'd expect the same.

I used to work at one of the most popular bars in our city when I was at uni. It wasn’t a gay bar, but it was the place to be among the college students. I worked as a bouncer, bar back, and bartender. It was probably one of the best jobs I ever had. I hope you are able to get the job, I think it would be something you would enjoy.

You should be able to get the job if you are calm and also if you have some experience, you will be ok.
