I think the Best player won it...
Most consistent during 2006 and redefined the concept of "ABSOLUTE PERFECTION' at the World Cup!!
Never seen anyone play 7 matches in a row, in a major tournament, with such an intensity, commitment and faultless performances...

I think he was also the best player in The Germany World Cup. They gave that award to Zidane not for his performance during that competition but more for his lifetime of great footballing.
Fabio Cannavaro is one of the most complete players of the last years. I'm so sorry that he is playing for MAdrid...
