I Thought it Would be Just the Opposite

I was checking over my bills. Rent going up, need to put more toward groceries and was watching for my power bill to go up soon. I get Budget pay and so it is the same each month. Every few months it usually goes up. But, big surprise. I was reading the insert in my monthly bill and happened to look at the bill again. I found a notification saying that next month(August) the amount will go down to $3. Pleasant surprise. Now if several other bills would do that I would be in seventh heaven.

I subscribe to "level pay" for our electric and gas bills. They figure the amount the bills were total last year and divide by 12 and that's our monthly payment. Every May, I either have another lump sum to pay or they pay me any overage I've paid during the year. This past may I got $30 back from one of them and came out even on the other one. (I don't remember which was which right now.) If they'd all just stop going up, I'd be a lot happier!

They must have redone ours. They don't pay me for the overage. It just turns over. I was surprised that it went down and not up.

@celticeagle True, but not paying part of a bill one month is just like them giving me money back.

That would be nice that the bills we all have to pay up will decrease since inflation is taking a huge bite out of buying power.

I was in the budget plan last year and in may or so of this year mine went down to fifty some dollars and thereabouts the next month too. It's back up to a bit over one hundred now. I would have rather had them lower it a little instead of that much of a difference.

It is on Budget Pay. I pay the same each month. They take about six months or so and average it out. Very nice for budgeting.

It's nice that it'll go down for you. It may not be much, but every little bit counts.
