I never retired

Over twenty years ago I was employed as a Vet helper and kennel cleaner and sometimes I washed cats and trimmed their feline nails. I guess being a Vet helper never leaves the blood entirely. Beau Teak's Doc called just a bit ago: good news. IF you can squirt dental rinse onto Beau's gums and maybe do some teeth brushing!!?? he doesn't need teeth extracted. This news is fantastic, exciting and a bit intimidating. Our bill will be a whole lot slimmer. I just hope the inflammed gums and mouth ulcers will go away now that he has had a dental clean up. Plus I will be giving him antibiotics for the next two weeks or so. Battling traffic wears me out. The Doc said that Beau kitty could "hang out" with the hospital for the day. I'd go get him in the morning. I guess I'd better straighten my Dr. Doolittle cap and be ready for tomorrow. I hope this is the end of Beau's mouth woes.

Thanks @VivaLaDani13. It was fulfilling work though also boring sometimes. I loved the times I got to help with surgery- once I kept track on whether a cat continued to breathe as the Vet did a surgical procedure.

@VivaLaDani13 Interesting what is stress to one person is fascinating and rewarding to another.

Some Listerine might help too (just kidding). Great news! Hope the brushing works out.

@dgobucks226 Today is the day. I plan to squirt some green gunk onto Beau's gums. Hubby will hold him while I aim and fire.

@sallypup Hope it went well. Cats can be a handful when taking medicines.

I'm glad it's something you'll be able to do at home and hope his mouth heals completely. Good luck and have fun giving the dental rinses and brushing his teeth... I don't envy you that chore.

@DaddyEvil Thanks. I just barely get Beau's nails trimmed before he looses patience. I'm hoping I can figure this out.

It's entirely possible, but you just never know with animals.

Kobe's teeth needed to be cleaned, he never did have it done. Beau will be glad to come home:)
