India's Amrit Maha Utsav sees release of rape and murder accused. Is this justice towards women?

On 14th August 22 the Gujarat government in India released 11 people covicted for raping a pregnant woman and murdering her family members including her 3 years old daughter, a toddler. They were sentenced to life imprisonment in 2008 for the crime they had committed in 2002 and were released on 14th August 22 on the plea of remission of punishment. Isn't this a bizarre decision on the part of any government? The husband of the victim says that she has become dumb may be out of fear of being raped again. What kind of justice is this? The women of India can never feel safe in their own country. The photo of the convicts enjoying sweets after their release from the jail.

@Butterfingers It's we the people of India who have to change the situation. We have already started a campaign against this release and the Supreme Court has reacted. Hope we can bring in lots of changes through this electronic media.

You know I was not lying. But if we all stay silent on this issue, do not dare open our mouths, do not risk whatever are the dire consequences, next generation will not have safe future. It is not merely the present government. In general, there is lethargy to address the issues that can be addressed when it comes to women and children.

It was the saddest news to read on the Amrit mahotsav day . One message that goes clearly accross is rape a Muslim woman, kill members of this community and you need not worry about being punished for the powers that are, are with you. And what was the PM mouthing about respecting women in his independence day speech?

@aninditasen I agree. As women...we are overburdened with moral code of conduct. Men can have affairs, but if a woman has some, society looks down upon her. After such things........ if it is rape....that is oh so wrong...oh so wrong....oh so wrong...and the silence of Prime Minister and Home Minister and Law Minister and spokespersons of BJP who are talking about Sisodia... to divert from this. That is so wrong....so wrong. Heart aches.

@vandana7 That was wrong indeed. Whether the man or the woman no one is safe now in India. Criminals are on the prowl.

He was just telling a pack of lies. Whether a Muslim or a Hindu, we all have a right to be safe in our country which we are not.

That is why I said BJP government is not reliable. In fact, no politician in our country is reliable. I have been sulking since Sengar days. Gujarat government's action proves BJP endorses ill treatment of women.

Our country needs a drastic change. No political party is concerned about the countrymen but fame and money. Politicians these days behave like dictators unless under legal pressure.

I hate such decisions when made by the government for the culprits of such heinous crimes. I was upset when the same decision was taken to release a minor who was involved in Nirbhaya case. @vandana7

@sjvg1976 Ironically whenever such anger path is chosen....whether in terms of language or wrong decisions, or entry into temple, etc., we divide our population. Already we are short of armed forces. Tomorrow there will be internal turmoil, we bring in our forces to control the situation, what happens at the borders? Naturally, the Chinese and Pakistanis have advantage. Only a bunch of really stupid people would want to create such a mess. People who have never worked a day in their life! Have you seen Modi use cell phone? Or Laptop? What about Shah? Do we need such leaders?

Now you know why Indian politicians are not to be trusted, whichever religion or party they belong to. LOL This one was one of the most disgusting decisions. I think the BJP government is getting perverted ...yes, perverted pleasure in hitting out at Muslims. First it was the lynching of the old muslim guy followed by Triple Talak followed by ayodhya (do you know the songs they sang...katua ko katenge ram mandir banayenge...the most holy and saumya god would like that...right?), as a Hindu I hung my head in shame when they were referring to circumcision in rhyming along with the name of god. followed by Kashmir and now this.. Lot of hatred will simmer in the hearts of Indian Muslims. This is so wrong...I am in tremendous pain about it.

@vandana7 I agree that will ignite hatred in the heart of Indian Muslims. I don't on what basis they released them, just because they had good behavior in the prison. What is the guarantee they won't do the same shameful thing when they come out of prison? It's a strange thing happening in the country.
