We went to my doctor's appointment yesterday (8/17) which is about 30 minutes away. We get there; and their elevator is not working. Well, neither my husband nor I can navigate a lot of steps; so I called them. Turns out they didn't even have an appointment for me. My doctor forgot to log it in. This is the second time this has happened. So we went to Texas Roadhouse. Got there early enough that there were handicap parking spaces and lots of booths available.
Breakfast - Protein bar
Lunch - Texas Roadhouse - Their spectacular rolls and cinnamon butter, salad, chicken critters, mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables
Dessert/Snack - Key Lime Pie and decaf coffee
Dinner - Protein bar
What did you have to eat yesterday?

Better confirm with the doctor's office one day before the appointment. Your lunch at Texas Roadhouse sounds great. I had fried green pepper stuffed with shrimp paste this evening.

That was smart of you to call before attempting the stairs.
I love the Texas roadhouse, we used to cross over to Michigan and go to one there and do a bit of shopping.
That seems like a lifetime ago, before the border closures due to covid and the screening and all of the rest of it.
Crossing became difficult after the terrorist attacks of 9/11 years ago, but we adjusted to that, but I believe that the restrictions as a result of covid are just as strict and have kept us home as a result.
But oh.......those rolls and cinammon butter, they are to die for.

@LindaOHio Yes, its been quite a while since we have needed passports to cross the border. It is as a result of the 9/11 attacks.

@LindaOHio Passport into Canada? My hubby and I have enhanced drivers licenses. That used to be okay to get into Canada if we were in the car.

We now have to have a passport to go into Canada. I think it's ridiculous but oh well! Our meal was deee-lish!

Gee, that's so disappointing! Guess now you've got to call even before you start out for the doctor! Let's see, dinner, Spam & scrambled eggs on toast.

I have actually considered investing in Texas Roadhouse in the past, and still have some interest in the company. It's done well, but I shy from it because it's basically a "one trick pony" in the restaurant sector and I have some inclination the stock may be a better buy later on since dining out will be one of the areas people will pull back on a bit with the inflation being where it is.
Either way, I opted for easy last night and just cooked up some On-Cor chicken parmigiana with some leftover mac and cheese and broccoli we had.
Wifey had a leftover baked potato and peas instead of what I had for sides. But used up some food, so that was a good thing.

Sorry to hear that, that would be frustrating...especially with it being so far away. But you got a good lunch it sounds like! Their rolls with the butter are so good.

@MommyOfEli2013 That's even further than ours. I wish they'd build one by us. That and a Golden Corral.

My experiment failed. I ate chicken taco salad four days in a row and I did NOT turn into one.
Sammich and chicken soup for dinner.

We've had that happen at the endocrinologist... after we waited for six months for the first appointment. I even showed them where they had given me a text "reminder" about the appointment. The next available appointment was two months away. When we told our regular doctor, who had to refer us, she wasn't happy, either.
I had a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit for breakfast, some of the beef stroganoff for lunch and a bowl of watermelon for supper last night.
I hope you enjoy your day today.

@LindaOHio I see... I won't do Telehealth appointments. If the doctor can't see you/can't see what's really happening with you, then they can't diagnose your problem accurately. I won't pay several times for what should be one appointment in person.

I had to wait another month for an appointment. I chose a Telehealth appointment since we already drove 1/2 hour to get there the first time.

That's so aggravating when doctors do that. Gas is too expensive for unnecessary trips. But glad you enjoyed that yummy lunch.
