It will be a good day to pick my green beans. I will go to the garden in a few and get that done. I am curious how many I will get this time. Hoping this will be enough that I am done canning these. And even have a decent amount to sell.
Except for that I probably wont do too much today. We have been watching Hart of Dixie on the freevee channel. Last night we watched a couple of the Tremors movies for something different.
Hope you have a good day.

You would never want canned ones again.

@wolfgirl569 I'm not fond of canned green beans even though I keep some in the pantry for backup and I usually only get frozen bags at the supermarket. I bet garden fresh green beans are delicious

We had a low of 58F last night. It's still only 68F now. The high is supposed to reach 80F today. Pretty has already told me she has no plans to mow this afternoon.
We need to go to the pharmacy to pick up our meds but Pretty is arguing that we might as well wait until tomorrow when she wants to go grocery shopping anyway. (I really don't care when we pick them up. I have enough meds for a month right now. *shrug*)

@wolfgirl569 We hit a high of 79F today. It was nice outside. (Ohhh... you should have been here! I woke up this afternoon and went into the kitchen and hard thunder so looked out tha window and saw it raining. I want to the front door and looked out and no rain, just a partly cloudy sky. I went back to the kitchen and watched it rain in the backyard only for about ten minutes. I yelled for Pretty to come watch the weird weather.)
Yeah, we go buy groceries tomorrow, anyway, so will pick up the meds then.

We were in the high 50s over night also. We got to 79 for a high.
If you have enough meds I would stay home.

@wolfgirl569 We were lucky, in the north of Italy the too serious thunderstorms have causes damages.

We have been getting enough rain so I should get another picking yet.
The green beans I cold pack. They cook while being pressure canned.

@wolfgirl569 I pickle some vegetables (cucumber, beetroot) and freeze others and make lots of jams and jellies and in the past I have bottled fruits as well, but have never 'canned' any vegetables, I wouldn't know how to do it.

@Fleura What you are calling bottled I think is the same as we call canning. Mine are all in jars with sealed lids.

This is that time of year when you live and breathe green beans. I hope you have enough to sell.

I think one more canning stretch and I will have enough for a year plus.

Green beans are really good, if prices keep going up, a lot of us might be growing them.

We had no luck this year with the garden. Either the bugs ate everything or the sun was too hot for them. Oh, I forgot... the rhubarb did well! I'm running out of things to watch... will have to check to see if I have Hart of Dixie?

I have had those years with the garden. Last year my beans didnt do good but I got enough for us.
When we are staying dry I dont weed as heavy so they protect the plants. Its a pain when its time to pick them but it does help.

I don't really have room for green beans, and I miss them. I think next summer I am going to plant pole beans, they don't take up nearly as much room. I am envious, I love them fresh.
Hope you had a good day, Eva.
