I've only picked one... ONE... zucchini?
The big zucchini joke is that you get more than you can use yourself so you go about sneaking them into other people's porches or cars or whatever. But I haven't had any to share.
I think someone's sneaking into my garden at night and helping themselves.

Well, at least you got 1, that's better than none, right?
How I wish veggies would grow in our desert but here the kinds of veggies I could grow would be prickly pear cacti and some form of dandelion, well, that's better than nothing but I've never eaten either of those and haven't a clue how to prepare them.

Have you tried growing things in containers?

@rebelann So, start with one large flowerpot of tomatoes or beans.

Not yet, I would need to purchase all kinds of soil and containers, the soil in my yard is mostly that gray type clay that I see at the bottom of the Rio Grande, it's too thick for many plants to grow in ..... of course the desert flora loves it but not the stuff I want to grow

I think someone's been to your garden in the night. We planted 3 plants and have been overrun with zucchini this year. I started taking them to random people off the internet. I have some big ones we're going to get seeds from and plant for next year. We're going to dehydrate them down for bread all year long.

Our neighbour gave us a couple of huge zucchinis from his garden last year. We never did use them. He hasn't offered us anything this year. My daughter's future mother-in-law sent her home with some small cucumbers from her garden. I'm wondering whether the weather this year has stunted the crops.

From our days of living in the country, you should have zillions of them by now!
