Good morning. It's 10:23am of Monday. My sons are already in their first day of face to face classes. Me, few minutes from now, I'm about to do my nap in order to gain strength for my night work shift later. Anyway, last night, I woke up at 10:30pm because hungry. I ate my dinner. I'm too tired in which I force myself to sleep early at 5pm as my neighbor is singing out loud with their karaoke. Then after dinner, I opened the computer of my youngest to continue watching the Netflix "Money Heist", I'm already at Season 2 Episode 4. Then about 12midnight, my eldest woke up and opened his laptop. He opened immediately his laptop. I have no intention to stop him in using his laptop at that time. I just ask him, what time he's going to sleep because I'm worried for his first day of classes at 7:30am and I don't want that he's sleeping or dizzy while on the class. You know what I mean as a parent. He almost cried and telling I'm trying to stop his usage his laptop. I got mad. I don't throw anything to him physically but telling something that he needs to take care of his health. I'm not stopping him to use the computer, he needs that, just trying to convince him to lend enough time to use. I'm almost in a heart attack last night. My wife was crying while asking me to take Amlodipine. I'm sorry my son for being over protected to you. All of you, Sam, Kyler and your mother are all important to me. We don't have enough money to have in the hospital if there's a need. I hope you understand. Sorry for this long message. Sorry.

Sam wrote a discussion about it, too. It can be really hard to be a good parent. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding and hope the two of you talk about this when you have time.

@DaddyEvil Yes. I'm trying all my best to be a good father but I'm not that perfect.

@luisga814 You don't have to be perfect to be a good parent. And I firmly believe you and your wife are good parents.

@DaddyEvil thanks for understanding. I do understand that Sam is not that mad. He's just some tantrums that time.

Children have to be supervised and corrected. Most children’s parents see that children are in bed early when they have to get up to go to school. Children can’t be left alone to make their own decisions.

@FayeHazel I was still sleeping when they've gone to the school. I don't know what Sam feels right now.

I dont find anything wrong you did. I was also wondering what Sam will do once the school opens as he was so addicted to mylot. I warned him this when he joined the site. I know it's not easy to find out the times once you're studying. It is a better decision if gives more time for the studies than any site. You did fine as a parent, I would have done the same with my kids too.

@sjvg1976 he goes back to school. And with myLot, he only do about 2-3 hours a day unlike during school break, it's more than 6 hours. I don't know how many hours he will do here in myLot as yesterday, government announced class suspension due to Typhoon.

You are being a reasonable and caring loving parent. Kids today should not get angry but they do. I understand you. And you are working so hard to take care of everyone. So sorry this happened dont feel bad Luis Your son should listen and be grateful to have you.

I was going to ask about your son Sam as he disappeared from myLot, I suppose it is because he is back to school. I understand your reaction, just try to be less angry when you talk to your sons, they are going to think you are against them.

For generations, parents have struggled to have their kids understand that they speak from years more experience, and kids have struggled to accept and understand the wisdom. Your plight has been fought through time and will be fought through time with their own kids one day. Younger people always think they already understand everything—funny how we all get older and one day realize... Our parents were right.

The reaction of a parent really can't be understood by the child until that child is a parent. I think about the things that my parents stopped me from doing or made me do that made me mad, and now, as a parent myself, I totally understand where they were coming from.

I think you did the right thing to remind your son to go to bed earlier. He'll understand when he calms down.
