More Bargain Hunting Today

No, no. Not in the grocery store. I am talking about in the stock market. But of course I am. Because my aim is always to increase my profits and take advantage of little downward spikes in the markets to add to company's I like and get more shares at a slight discount. The markets were down on Friday, and it looks like they will be down a bit today as well. While I did no buying on Friday, I will do some today. Considering what the pre-markets look like this morning I should be able to get some pretty good deals. More shares, more dividends, and more future profits. What more can a guy ask for on what would otherwise be just another crappy Monday morning?

I just put a nice little chunk of change in my investment accounts to take advantage of the down market. Exciting times. Like you said, future profits and dividends! I could probably win the lottery and it still wouldn’t change the fact that Mondays are crappy. Lol

@porwest I think Mondays should be half days, to ease us back into the work week. And then, of course, fridays should also be half days to ease us back into the weekend. I think that’s the only fair way to do it.

One has to take advantages of opportunities where they can for sure. I agree about winning the lottery and Mondays. Mondays are just that. Mondays. lol

@much2say It only ever goes up ultimately. That is how the markets work and how money is always made.

It's rainy and gloomy here. Good luck in the market. Hubby has a few stocks but I don't play in it (if that's even the correct word).

@porwest My dad used to be in the stock market. Once he ended up losing everything and what made it even worse was that he had a margin account.

@lovebuglena You REALLY have to know what you are doing, ESPECIALLY if you are borrowing to do it. Never a good thing.

"Play" may be a bit of an inappropriate word when it comes to investing. But I use the word often too. I am in the stock market because business fascinates me, I like to make money, and don't want to work forever, and want to enjoy my retirement when I decide to do it.

Buying stocks like you do sounds kind of like a cross between making extra money and a hobby. Good for you!

I saw something about that Rivian company not doing well

Rivian has not underperformed to my expectations, if that means anything. It is acting in similar fashion to other start-ups/fresh IPOs, and to my mind the current price the stock is trading at is a truer representation of current value than the IPO price was, which tends to often be the case most of the time as well. They have had supply chain issues and a couple of production expectation hiccups. But so far I would not say that I am at all disappointed in the current state of nor potential outcome of the company. It WILL face a lot of competition, though, as almost all major automakers are now introducing EVs as well. Rivian will have to do more to set itself apart for sure.

It is what I always look for. Most of my investing interests are tied to value in any event, and bargains abound in this area of the market.

Gold is a fairly solid investment and cannot argue against it. I have never invested in gold though.

I still hold some crypto, but I have mostly lost any faith in this market. I just don't see it having the legs it needs to really have any long term future value. But of course I could be wrong about that.
