Hungry Caterpillar Birthday Cake

My grandson has turned one year old. His mom, my daughter, baked and designed this intricate Hungry Caterpillar cake. Macarons added touch of the whole birthday cake. Of course, Grandfather, my husband, made sure that he took photos of every angle of the Hungry Caterpillar. Mostly, his 1-year old Joshua's handsome face staring at the flickering light on the candle. It was a precious Happy Birthday day.

That is a very nice cake. By chance, do you know how she got it to stand up like that? And how did it get cut so it didn't fall over? (It looks like a slight breeze will blow it over...)

I'm not an expert, but I think she shaped/sculpted a big and tall layers of the chocolate chiffon cake. And then, frosted it.

@DaddyEvil I forgot to ask her while we were at her house. Normally, she shows us fast motion videos of her cake-making. :-) She's amazing!
