Sri Lanka and later Pakistan faced the crisis of inflation. Inflation is a problem in India too. Is it the sam ein other countries also? At this rate, what could happen in the near future?
A gas cylinder costs now more than rupees on e thousand. Vegetable prices have also skyrocketed. hen even middle class families wil find it dificult to bear the cost, we can only wonder how difficult it ill be for the poor familied to ber the costs

Prices for food has risen by 10.4% between June 2021 and June 2022 in the US. I doubt any country globally has not been hit by inflation.

@Bhurishrava I wouldn't say extremely bad but it could always get worse.

Many factors there, population for one, followed by water crisis (excess or short), and the fuel prices, which we import, and finally, insufficient GDP.
Population creates demand and supply. If there is more population, there will be more demand, and when supply does not match, prices go up.
Water crises...floods cause crop loss. The other problem is drought. Third problem indirectly related to these two is storage of food items, which are perishables. So proper crop selection is not done.
I think people have a right to build dams in their part of the State. They are not denying the states that are down the stream. They can sell both power and electricity. Likewise, the states below can sell the produce to the states upstream. Unnecessary politics.
A more holistic approach would be, to grow food in farms rather than flowers. I have found extensive usage of flowers in marriages, functions, political ceremonies, python like garlands being put on the necks of people. We now have many more temples than before, therefore, more flowers are offered to our gods too. Coupled with the fact that we no longer live in joint families. So in ancient times, when we lived say father mother, grandfather grandmother, two sons, their wives, and grandchildren. All offered prayers at one place in the house, required fewer flowers. Now father mother stay somewhere else, grandparents elsewhere, and sons too stay separately, we have multiplied the need for those flowers in the process. Correspondingly, we have also reduced the land and water because of increase in population and building homes..and other amenities. Effectively, lesser area to grow food, and within that we use water and land to grow flowers. While praying at home and temple is fine, using flowers extensively for functions and politicos seems waste to me.
Fuel is self explanatory.

Hong Kong's inflation rate as of June 2022 was 1.8%. According to some forecast, the average inflation rate in 2022 will be about 2.2%. The situation is not too bad here.
