Menopause Madness Part Duex

This is discussion #2 on menopause. If you missed that one it might answer some questions that will help you here as well. Please check it out. I joined a few Facebook Menopause groups and boy, was that an eye opening endeavor. Finally, to find I wasn't crazy. I wasn't alone and I wasn't going through anything new. So many women suffering the very things I had been suffering. One symptom, that has been surprisingly common, is women who do not care to be around their spouses anymore. Literally, they could walk away from their marriages and not care, or so they say. I can imagine it. I don't want that but I can imagine it. Especially when I was in the "sex, what? I never think about that" stage. Some of them truly struggle to just keep a civil tongue in their heads. They are annoyed by even the tiniest of everyday irritants. I really feel for them. I have my own way of dealing with everyday irritants and that is to remind myself this, "someday that person may no longer be here and you are going to just WISH you had his razor to put away." I'm grateful for my sweet man and I don't want to let little irritants make me think negative thoughts. Everyone battles with positive and negative mind speak. I want to win to the positive side. I'm glad there are groups and other places for support during this time. One never likes to feel alone in issues they are suffering. Knowing others have experienced similar issues is comforting and can be so helpful.

If there were any "Menopause Ease" group we might get an idea about percentages. Unfortunately those women don't need support so we may never know.

I didn’t have any major problems; however…… Menopause started for me when I was 35, after a hysterectomy (I had an ovarian tumor, so they did a double oophorectomy as well). They had me on hormones immediately after the surgery, but I got off of them by the time I was released from the doctor (he was very conservative and checked me every three months to make absolutely certain there was no cancer related to the tumor, and there wasn’t, thank God). And truthfully, my PMS was so awful there wasn’t anything menopause could throw at me that would’ve been worse! (PS: I love the word oophorectomy. Sounds like a bad day in baseball: “I took an ooh-for.” )

I never really had a bad menstruation era. It was typical I guess. Menopause was way worse for me. I'm leveled off now and I see a new Dr soon.

I never had any issues with PMS until my tubes were cut, tied and burned. Now I have most of the PMS issues you can have. On top of that Menopause has started for me and it seems I am getting all of those issues piled on top of the PMS issues. I am starting to understand how women are driven to murder and blame it on their mental issues....
