More strict garbage disposing rules

Philippines

I am just resting from doing a lot of stuff today. Plus, taking out the trash tonight. It was the last time I'm throwing all the stuff in one bin. I do some reycling but not all of them, just the plastic bottles, and cans. I heard from one of the local officials here that they're going to implement strict recycling rules for garbage disposal. It means they will inspect every garbage bag and if it's not recycled properly, the truck won't take it Mom told me attend the seminar on their strict recycling program. She forgot that this is the second time I'm going to attend to a seminar like this. Because the first time I took notes, and all I had were rice sack to fill it up. But the rest really didn't follow it. We had this "ningas kugon" belief that it's just good on the start, but soon they'll run out of budget and back to normal again. Same goes with local government programs. They're "not regular" and start dying off. But this is one program I wanted to last long because I just can't stand people who doesn't do recycling or properly throwing trash. Lack of discipline among them has always come in the way. I already started it but it's costing too many sacks and garbage bags. I have two big buckets though, but it's reserved for the biodegerable waste. It's not new to the most of you, but such program implemented in our local place, not very optimistic. But I hope it would lessen the mess in the garbage over here. Have a nice day

Because it is being implemented for the sake of our mother earth, I simply hope they can do it and will keep doing it. If we could separate our waste so that it could be properly disposed of or recycled, I believe we could reuse items. This would significantly lessen waste and the clogging of numerous waterways with plastics and other items that were not recycled but instead dumped carelessly.

Hello @rsa101 I already know it's for the planet and mother earth. I mean all of the plastics and related mostly came from fossil fuels already. But not every one does it.

We do our best when it comes to recycling. In our area the sanitation department has tried to set standards for recycling. So far it seems like everything is going okay. We haven't gotten any warnings lately so I guess all is well.

Hello @betlynfrnds I think it's been in your system over there for a long time. It's just not consistent over here though. They might not even invite every body for a seminar or something.

Recycling is a very positive thing. In my country we have recycling initiatives but not as effective as I would like it to be. Recycling also generates income. Garbage is a major problem worldwide and we have difficulty with more complex waste, such as electronics. But I leave here an alert with the disposal of glass. When disposing of glass, put the broken pieces in bottles and wrap in a reinforced paper in a way that does not pose a risk to the people collecting it. Consciously discarding and taking the necessary care so that no one gets hurt.

Hello @Aiana18 I even bought two flour and dairy cream drums that are empty just to fill the void on the recycling thing. So far so good anyways, only the biodegrable is separated. As for electronics, not sure were to put it.
