I do. I hate it coming up and telling me a long-lost friend has a birthday.

@58lordstreet No I don't have. Most of them don't even have social media accounts. Rare have.

@58lordstreet not as soon as they die but if it becomes apparent that there are no more tribute posts going on their pages from family and friends I let them go, possibly saving a few photos for posterity

Their birthdays keep coming up. I should unfriend them.

I did delete one because she kept showing up on my feed on the side. It was making me sad to look at her picture. There are others I haven't deleted.

I am rarely on FB but on here, sometimes I leave their names for a while for some reason. It seems a bit harsh to 'wipe them out' too soon but that's just me.

I haven't deleted my husband as I want his past memories to be with me.

I don't get on Facebook at all anymore, but if I did, I'd probably keep the people who have passed on, just for the pictures and such.

Sometimes, I suppose it gives some people comfort to still be able to look at the account. I know they can be converted to legacy, or remembrance, accounts and some of my FB friends who have passed have had family members do that for them. I have a couple of them I have not deleted, of loved ones.
But you are right, it is sad.
