Hey! Remember Me?

Oh, the things I have done! Lol! I didn’t expect to be gone this long, but I truly have been busy, mostly with the house and outdoors.
It began last November when we began meeting with contractors for a patio. The photos, if loaded ( I forgot how to load them here), show some of the work involved. And oh, the darn work! They began last March and have been back 3 times for an area that has caused trouble, due to the settling of fill.
But that wasn’t all we’ve been up to. I certainly have lots to write about.
But to suffice it to say, I am back to myLot, except for date night Friday and going out with friends tomorrow night. I will pop by this weekend since we are able to breathe easy for a while. Well, not really.
I’ve missed you all and thought of my myLot friends every day.

Long time, no see! I'm happy you've made it back.
Oh, wow! That was a big project! The plants and furniture all look good on and around the new patio, though.

@DianneN You're welcome! Several of us wondered it you abandoned us.
As long as you're staying busy and happy, that's what counts.

@DaddyEvil I thought I gave notice that I would be busy, but at the time I had no idea how things would snowball. One thing led to another, and holy cow! I didn’t have time to go for more than 4 walks and no time for my sports. I will try to explain in further posts.

Missed you too. Hope you are really back.
How does that patio set feel. I have looked at them but not sure I want to buy one.

@DianneN We have actually thought about it for inside. I like the looks of that set. Hot pink would be very pretty.

@wolfgirl569 I’m pretty sure it would be very comfortable inside as out.
However, it’s huge!

I’m really back as far as I can tell. lol
The furniture is extremely comfortable, but the cushions are not waterproof. So…. next year I will have Sunbrella cushions made up. I wanted hot pink anyway. Such a nuisance to cover them when rain is expected.

Thanks, Ruby.
A portion of that patio was built upon fill (dirt) to extend it. The settling takes time for the fill to compact. I’m sure the contractor will have to return again some day, but he and his crew are accountable and did a great job considering they also had to work around ledge, our deck, and a huge drop in the yard.

@RubyHawk Many thanks. It’s so pleasant sitting out there. I usually have my morning cup of coffee on the couch or at the umbrella table. However, I have been walking around the yard carrying my coffee while keeping an eye on the workers elsewhere in the yard. Hubs and I enjoy the patio in the evening to unwind.

@sweerie_banana I’m Jewish, so don’t celebrate Christmas. I did get a little Christmas tree for my classroom when I taught school and decorated it. It was so cute!

@DianneN her name is Heidi and she's 10. I have Elizabeth who is 13 and very feral. Sparky is 12 and fading. Of course, there is Heidi, so named cause she used to climb everything. Then there is Onyx who is only a few weeks older than Opal, but we got her in hopes she'd be Opal's friend, but they both hate other cats, they are 5. Opal came at 4 days old, so we got her months before we got Onyx. Next is Boris, my 'golden' child, he's orange and 4 years old... and finally there is Teeny, short for Justine so named because we got her from a guy named Justin, just a year old, probably about 15 months.

You have surely made your yard look beautiful, over the past year:) I haven't been on My Lot regularly, because of other things, also. Busy? Yes, summer has flown by like a grease shot. It has been lovely in Michigan, all season

You were missed. But I knew that you will come back sooner or later as good things are keeping you busy. Welcome back
The patio looks lovely
I am back from the week end long travel and dropping my elder daughter to campus. She got into her dream college .
We have also started some remodeling and renovation work in our home. So, it is definitely going to keep us engaged for another two months.

@arunima25 How nice that you get to see your niece for the next four years. She will be great company for your younger daughter and make you a tint bit less sad not having your older daughter around. We still miss having our sons living with us after all these years
I’m sure you’ll be most happy when all the work is done!

@DianneN Thank you for your wishes. We are getting used to the house without her and it is not easy. Anyway my husband's niece is here to stay with us for another four years to complete her degree in journalism. Her college is five minutes walk from my home. So, my younger one has some company. She would have missed her sister the most.
We are prepared for all the trouble that this renovation work brings. We hope that the end result is worth all that.
