How healthy is your stomach?

My Japanese friend called me last night. Her eyes puffy red, her usual happy demeanor gone. I said what’s wrong and she said she had the results of her annual check up. I felt dread enveloping me when she mouthed the word stomach cancer. OMG! She’s so young to be having cancer, I thought. The good thing about this is the early detection. The cancer is on it’s early stage so… I just realized how unhealthy my lifestyle is. How bad my eating habits are, and how I eat nothing of the healthy sort. Then I saw this photo.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend's stomach cancer, but hopefully, since it was caught early, she will get the treatment she needs and be able to live many many more years. Also, I'm wondering if the bell pepper sandwich would taste good. I love bell peppers (all colors), and I like everything that's in the sandwich, so I would probably love it!

Yes, I'll let you know if I make it. I don't know if I would use as much bell pepper as seen in the picture, though. I might have to trim it down.

I’m so sorry to hear about your friend. I hope her treatments cure her completely. That is an awful disease and deadly if not caught early. I love vegetables and include them in my diet daily.

@sol_cee Tonight I’m roasting veggies from my garden - zucchini, green beans, jalapeño peppers, and potatoes!

My Mom had stomach cancer, she was 70, it was detected at a very early stage, she had surgery and fully recovered... and continued to eat everything she liked. I eat healthier than my Mom.

@sol_cee - Let her know that stomach cancer is treatable and Mom was not even young. She had surgery when she was 70, she lived until the age of 97 and she did not die because of the cancer. I avoid unhealthy food, but most vegetables are NOT healthy for me, I cannot digest the fibers of many vegetables.

I like bell peppers but wouldn't be interested in eating what's in that picture. Too much bell pepper is just too much. I'm sorry about your friend and hope she'll be alright .

@sol_cee Here, potential employee is required to do a medical check before officially joining the company.

It is an uncommon form of cancer. Early detection is challenging, and by the time it is discovered, it is usually too late to take any significant action. Hers was discovered early, so hopefully there is still time to stop it from spreading. By getting older and being determined to rid your body of the disease, cancer can occasionally be overcome. Since it can significantly aid in her chemo therapy or other suggested therapies, I sincerely hope she is determined to fight it off. Though it will be a difficult battle, let's hope she can hang on and overcome it.

@sol_cee She passed away decades ago. She got a good decade before her body finally gave up because of age as well. Physically it is exhausting to have them on your body they will stick to your body and try to drain all your energy and will to survive. If you cannot get it off your body it really is hard to combat them.

Stomach cancer is very common in Japan. Maybe because of what they eat?

I´m so sorry for your friend. She was very lucky to have it detected early. I´m a fatalist about eating habits. From time to time it is said that we can eat lots of eggs and them ,from one day to the other, someone says that eggs are bad for your health. I ask my body.

Eggs make me wonder the same thing too. Egg whites aren’t as healthy as egg yolks. Or vice versa?

Oh, I am sorry to know about your friend. Maybe she will recover from it as the cancer is not in the advanced stage. Is there any relation between stomach cancer and the food we eat?

@sol_cee so we need to avoid such food. I dont like spicy and pickles. Fresh food and vegetables, they are good to include in the diet. That's a strange person dont have healthy eating habits.
