Mexican Food, Why are You so Darned Tasty?

Really, why is Mexican food so darned tasty? At least to me it is. I don't think I've ever had a Mexican dish that I didn't like! I am a bit of a food explorer, but there are a few foods from different lands that I just don't like, though I'll admit I like most of what I taste. And to me, the king of all Mexican food is nachos! And not just any nachos. The very best is nachos camarón (shrimp). Oh, my gosh, how I love this delicious plate of food! The Mexican restaurant we return to again and again is called Beto's, and it's actually more authentic Mexican food (in other words, not Taco Bell, which is delicious in its own right). How do you feel about Mexican food? Love it? Hate it? Indifferent towards it? And if you do love/like Mexican food, what is your favorite dish? Image by StockSnap from Pixabay

Your comment cut off at "but". Is there more to the story?

What's the closest thing you have to a Mexican restaurant in the Philippines?

I can't eat foods that are too spicy/hot. If it burns my mouth, I will spit it out! (My first wife wanted nothing but Mexican foods while she was pregnant with my daughter and burned me out on it.) I will eat a small amount but then I'm done for a long time! I do like taquitos and will eat those for a few days before I'm done with them for a few weeks/months.

@gtdoss I put mild salsa on burritos. I had rectal cancer for years and anything spicy would hurt worse leaving my body than it did going in, so I just couldn't eat anything that was very spicy.

Yeah, my stomach will punish me for several days if I feed it something too spicy. It's just not worth it!

Yes, I know what you mean about spicy/hot food. I have to protect my stomach from the really spicy stuff, so I use mild everything when it comes to Mexican food. Tastes just as good to me without the fire, LOL!

You're sooooo unfair. Now I'm hungry for chili rellenos, thats my fav mexican food. Here we have Lucy's Cafe which serves the best chili rellenos this side of the border ..... hmmmm, now that I think about it I've never had them in Juarez. Oh well, I guess I'll just make spaghetti, I will add chili to the sauce that'll make it kinda Mexicanish.

Here in El Paso there are a lot of Italians mixed in with the Hispanics and many of them run restaurants.

We do have our favorite Mexican restaurant, like I mentioned in my post, but my husband also cooks up some crazy good Mexican food from recipes on the internet!

I really enjoy it but not the spicy dishes. I also like the desserts. Fried cheesecake and fried ice cream.

Yes, I also don't like very spicy dishes. I use mild salsa and mild peppers whenever we make it at our home. I've never had fried ice cream or fried cheesecake before. I'll have to try them!

I do love Mexican food too, but I sometimes tire of it. It is so prevalent these days.

Mexican food is tasty as long as it is not too spicy, It just always has the right combination of ingredients, I love tacos, nachos, and enchiladas,

Yes, tacos, nachos, and enchiladas are probably my three favorites when it comes to Mexican food. And like you, I don't like it too spicy. I stick with mild sauces, mild peppers, etc.

I can’t remember eating in a Mexican restaurant or have eaten Nachos. That would be nice to try Mexican restaurant but I have not heard of a Mexican restaurant here in our city or nearby,

I enjoy nachos the best. Tacos are also tasty. I go to one pub which makes a really good one otherwise I do homemade. Guacamole and sour cream are a must.
