My trip to the thrift shop

I was supposed to have a ride with my neighbor and friend to the thrift shop in our neighborhood. It's the first Saturday of the month and they have a huge sale of 60% off most items. I had a feeling that I should go, so I donned my walking boot, grabbed my crutches, and walked the three blocks both ways. The ladies who work in the thrift shop were thrilled to see me. It has been a couple of months since I've been in there. Between the breaking my ankle, the surgery to fix the compound fracture, and my having to keep my leg elevated, I haven't gotten around too much. Anyway, the place was packed like it usually is on the first Saturday. Unfortunately, there were a LOT of the women who would leave their carts in the middle of the aisle. That would be okay except that I was on crutches. I did manage to get around the carts and do my shopping. I did well, I got a pair of shorts for $2, a fanny pack for $2, and what was really great was I got a new scratching pad for the cats...for $3! Even though my ankle is the size of a beach ball and I hurt like crazy, I'm glad I went. I thought of the fanny pack and it's like it appeared before my eyes. OH! I added another teddy bear to my collection for just 80 cents. The scratching pad would have run over $30 so I guess it was worth the pain and the sweat. My prescription is ready...I need to call the pharmacy to find out what it's for. I may go out in the heat and pick it up. I'll have to check with the pharmacy first before I go out in 103-degree heat. How's your weekend going???? Great I hope!!!

You'd get looked at a little if you called it a fanny pack here. We call lit s 'bum bag'. Aren't our different terms funny at times?

I don't live that far from my local Walgreens, but but, with you being in pain, why not see if they deliver?
