Do You Live In A Convenient Area

United States

I have to go to Walmart after church. Where I live there is nothing, of convenience, no gas, not even a cold drink if you want one. I used to work for a lady, that had everything so close, she could walk if need be. If I didn't have a car, and could order online, I'd be into it. Sometimes, when we order, we get an email about weather conditions. You talk about rural, we live it.

Yes, I live in a convenient area. Eateries, supermarket, wet market, personal care products stores are just a few minutes walk from my place.

@popciclecold But nature is a bit far away from my place. That's the trade off.

@Beestring Lol, we live right in nature, no surprise to see deer grazing in the front yard.

I see, that's sad. Me, I live in a convenient place, on first floor too. Hele gas station with nomnom store even has boiled eggs. Marukai Wholesale Mart nearby a 5 minutes walk away from my home. Bus stops 5 minutes walk. East bound about 10-15 now, rail construction taking 2 bus stops now. Marukai Wholesale Mart has lots of prepared food too, so when lazy to cook, just a quick walk for ready to eat food.

Our area is much like yours. No one will deliver fresh if we order online. We can have things shipped, though.

Oh wow, so not even Walmart delivers there? I use many different online sites to get the food I want like Walmart and Target. The reason I do that is because all too often the my local walmart does not stock things like organic chicken or whatnot but online I can find sites that will deliver those to my door, even frozen food.

They do, but we have been flooded out, and we are still under the threat of rain

Yikes, how awful. I pray that rain goes to places that needs it rather than on your area. It never fails, one part of our country is in a drought and the other is under flood watch. Weird.

Well the new place ...Walmart would be a good 45 minute walk for me..but I get stuff delivered so. Id say yes as there are shops not 1 block from the new place, same as this place, lots of convenience and gas stations. Where i am moving to the grocers Natural Grocers will be 5 minute walk.

In the Philippines, I really live in the most convenient area because everything is accessible. In Metro Manila where I live I just go down and I can already buy my grocery, go to the bank, eat in a restaurant, have my coffee, drink, do weight training. Everything.

No, not very convenient and you can't get delivery here either. It is a little better with Dollar General around, but I am not a fan. At least they built a grocery store out here several years ago, because before that you had to drive a half hour to get to a supermarket.

Sorry for all the inconveniences you are having. I live in a gated private subdivision ( thank God) that has everything inside from traditional market to our own village commercial plaza. We even have our own private road that leads directly to the biggest mall chain here ( SM mall), everything can be reached by walking. Guess I'm just lucky.

I have a shop close to my house but everything is not available that I want. I therefore order online.

I live in more of a suburban area, so I have access to many places fairly close. Most within 10-15minutes by car. Growing up I visited my Granddad in North Carolina with my family quite a few summers and they lived in a rural region. The largest city near them was Hickory about 40 minutes away. Definitely, nothing close in the way of stores, or gas stations. The charm was in the slower pace of living there which I found relaxing as a kid. Of course, kids could always find fun things to do, but yes, quite different if you grew up in a city/suburb and a major adjustment.

I live outside of downtown but still in the city of Louisville. However, when I go see my aunt and uncle in “the country” I lose cell phone reception. They’re a long way from “the middle of nowhere.”

The area that we live in is relatively new. We've been here for just 5 years, and there was nothing at our end of town when we moved, it is still in the development stages. Now there are plenty of choices of stores and businesses within walking distance.

Lucky to live in a suburban where we can live. comfortably even walking to the convenience store. We don't have supermarket but there are. grocery stores that sell almost everything. Rural life is interesting being away from pollution but it's a lonely place
