As many of you know, my husband and I have been looking to buy a home for well over 4 years. There have been so many disappointments and let downs. We finally found a home that we both love.
Having improved his credit and landing a job that pays well, we decided to give in another try. His childhood home came on the market. He approached his bank and got pre approved for a loan.
We toured the house and land and made an offer. The asking price was ridiculous and we offered what we could afford and felt it was what the home was actually worth. They did not accept our offer and refused to negotiate. To this day it is still in the market and the price has not come down.
A week later a house we had previously been interested in was on the market. It had been renovated and was absolutely beautiful. I sent a message to our realtor who was the listing realtor.
We found a lender that is willing to work with us. What a process. Had to provide so much documentation of our finances, current and past employment, information about our current home, and too many other things.
We are now awaiting for the appraiser to check that the necessary repairs were done to their expectations. If so, the closing should go smoothly.
Keeping my fingers crossed.

I know it’s been a long journey and I’m so weary from it all. Because my husband is on the road almost every day except for the weekend I am the one that all of the paperwork comes to. And I have to make sure that it is properly filled out and submitted on time.

I hope everything goes through. It can be quite the ordeal to buy a home. I've owned several and never enjoyed the process.

I truly am not happy with the process. Why I thought it was going to go easier than this I don’t know.

@ElusiveButterfly I think it's the rose colored glasses that we're all prone to wearing when we really want things to go smoothly. We forget to take them off when we really need to.

Yes it is quite stressful and I’m trying not to let it get to me. Still the wound is fresh from losing my mom and I’m dealing with that.

The inspector said that the house was solid and the roof would last at least another 10 years.

Crossing my fingers for a quick closing. I know when we bought our home, it was a royal pain and closing took forever. They kept finding 'one more thing' they needed.

Well I’m hoping to that it goes smoothly. And yes they have been finding one thing after the other that they need. Several times I asked for the same thing over and over and I finally got it cleared up that the things they were asking for had already been submitted.

So far all I know is that the closing date is still set for the 16th of this month. I’m trying not to fret too much over it.

I hope you get a house soon. Houses around where I live does not stay on the market very long before they are sold.

The only ones that seem to stay on the market are the ones that are outrageously priced and that was the case with his grandfathers former house. When this house came on the market I jumped right on it.
