Do you think it is possible?

Do you think it is possible hubby caught something at the infectious disease clinic? Everyone was wearing a mask. However, we went to that appointment Wednesday evening. Then we went to Cracker Barrel where he ate a hearty meal. By the time we got home he needed a nap, and slept 15 hours. He has had stomach symptoms ever since. I took his temperature just now because he has been complaining of chills and he is at 101.5 F. Higher than when he had covid. He is having a hard time with food, although he has eaten fruit, and had tea, juice, and broth. His blood pressure is pretty low as well. It is bed time. He is in bed and has taken acetaminophen and has a glass of Gatorade beside him. I wonder where he could have gotten exposed if it was not at the clinic. Wish us luck.

Heavenly Father, I thank you for loving Heather and her husband. I pray for healing over his body Lord from head to toe. Touch him Father, restore him to brand new. Give Heather the strength to trust in you for healing over him. Thank you for being such a good Father to us Lord. In Jesus mighty name I pray Amen.

Oh dear Heather..could have been anywhere..will you take him to hospital if his fever does not go down or rises? Hope it doesn't. I am very concerned now. I know when I had caught some bacter from a mango years ago..I had a lot of fever and also couldnt keep anything down..or in..gave me antibiotics to get rid of this particular food poison.

Food borne illness is no fun and we are already avoiding fast food lettuce right now. He was on antibiotics for so long this summer that I am afraid he is going to catch everything.

@RebeccasFarm wow I can’t imagine getting bacteria from mango. Was it a fresh one you cut up or one you bought that was already skinned?

I fully agree with @DaddyEvil, I think more to the restaurant and the food he was served there, or someone was sick but went out to eat.

At first we felt like he had likely overeaten and it was all fried foods, which I do not prepare at home. We were not in proximity to anyone.as it was an odd time. I am also realizing that I was somewhat exposed at school to a child that was not in my care but in the same diapering room because he became ill. My mom always said the bacteria can carry in the air and on your clothes. That was also Wednesday and the child has not been back. I sprayed surfaces he had touched with sanitizer. These bugs can be everywhere and Bob has a weak immune system in my opinion. We shall see how he feels, he has been sleeping soundly now for nine hours.

@GardenGerty Your Mom was right, the bacteria can carry in the air and on our clothes. I always remove the shoes when I come from outside and I also change my clothing. I hope your husband will feel better soon. My husband also has a weak immune system, I am always worried to bring home some nasty virus.

Possibly at the clinic but more likely, in my opinion, at the restaurant. You took your masks off there while you ate... There's no telling what was floating around in the air there. I'd take him to one of the walk-in clinics and have him checked out. I hope it's just a tummy virus. Good luck!

@LadyDuck Even if it was a virus, when he slept for 15 hours, that gave the virus time to get him good.

I hope he recovers soon. It could be possible he got it while you were out of the clinic or yes, he might have gotten it there too. You can not exactly pinpoint the source as he has gone to other places as well. I pray he gets well soon. Keep going!

He got sick because he has had to take a lot of antibiotics this summer. The doctor says the bacteria he is infected by is everywhere and that people tend to get sick with it after a long treatment with antibiotics. He was on antibiotics for 70 days this summer.

Found the sound of it I doubt it was something form the clinic. Most virus you will catch and by day 3-4 is when you have symptoms. Form you say he has stomach issues or sounds like food poisoning which can hit you really quick. Can cause all that you said.

Most of the infectious disease patients are already on treatments. The more I think of it, the more it sounds like some kind of influenza. Hubby gets very sick to his stomach very easily, but usually does not have a fever like he had last night.

@GardenGerty it’s not a disease it’s a virus from what you said it’s not the flu not saying it couldn’t be but it doesn’t sound like the flu unless it’s the stomach flu which again is still food poisoning. You won’t feel that sick right after being at a doctors office he was 1 already sick or 2 it’s from the food he had since all at a restaurant.

Hi! Is your husband feeling better? It is possible he caught something at a clinic. One time I took my late husband to a clinic and a couple came in the waiting room. It was obvious the lady had "something"(??). I got concerned because of my husband's weak condition. He was sitting only a few chairs away from them and I was farther away from them than he was. Guess who was sick by the time I brought my husband home? ME!!!

Being out and about these days he could have gotten it anywhere. I hope he's feeling better and doesn't need medical attention.

It’s a possibility either there or at the restaurant. It could be a stomach bug-or the flu. I hope he’ll be okay.

I am beginning to think it is the flu as he just recovered from covid. He is always susceptible to stomach aches, just his luck. He gets it with everything.

Some of these things hit so fast. I went to my daughter's for dinner Sunday evening. I wasn't sick. I hadn't seen them in about 10 days. I was there about an hour, and David started coughing and sneezing. His eyes were watering. He is never, ever sick, so I was surprised. By the time I went home after dinner, he was on his way to Walgreen's to scare up some cough meds and such. By the time I got home (25 minutes later) I didn't feel good, either. I woke up Monday with a raging headache, by Monday night I was really ill. We all 3 ended up sick all this week, high fever, horrible cough, congestion. None of us are Covid positive, we've tested numerous times. My tele-doc says it's a wicked flu going around. He's right, it's certainly wicked. I'm ready for it to go away, any time. Doc said it often lasts a week to 10 days. Bah, humbug. I sure hope your fellow feels better tomorrow!

At first we thought it was his body reacting to so much food as he has always been sensitive that way. It has held on too long for that to be true, though.

I am sorry for him not feeling well. I would not be as concerned as to where he may have been infected as seeking medical attention. He doesn't need any more set backs.

It would just tell us what he is more likely dealing with if we knew where. I have more ideas about exposure now that I think about it. If he is not better we will go to a walk in clinic today.

Go see the doctor just to be safe if symptoms persist. I had food poisoning once due to eating expired canned corn beef. The pain was excruciating. Let's hope it's just indigestion from over-eating. Your guess about him getting infected in the clinic is also possible given that there are sick people there. The only way to be sure is to seek professional medical help.

Yes, food poisoning is no fun. It acts much like the flu is what it is looking like. I think we could have been exposed last Sunday at church, or even I may have some virus or bacteria around me if I was around sick children.
