Today is Grandparent's Day. It has been observed on the first Sunday after Labor Day since Jimmy Carter officially declared it as such in 1978. It is also honored in such countries as Japan, Hong Kong, France, and Australia. It is to a day to celebrate the relationship between grandchildren and grandparents. That bond is very special and a great day to show their grandparents gratitude for their unconditional love and the influence they have on their grandchildren's lives.
My paternal grandparents were Charles and Mary. My maternal grandparents were Orsa Drake(known to most as O.D.) and Ruby. I want to send them both a great amount of gratitude for the special memories I have of them and the love they showed me in life. It is very special and I am so happy to have had them in my life and memories that I hold dear to my heart.

It's good for you that you have a day for grandparents. Here we don't have that kind of celebration.

I recall hearing about it a few years ago. But forgot about it.
