A Happening

I happened to need celery.
Getting errands done, I happened to be near a grocery store.
I found my celery and happened to walk to the other side of the store to check out the clearance shelves.
A man there happened to stop next to me. I thought he wanted to pass through, so I moved . . . but he stopped next to me again. He reached into his pockets and I was thinking what is happening ?
He gave me a slip of paper. He happened to have a 40 cent off coupon for celery .
In shock, I said "What, no way!". He laughed "Ha ha, right? Well have a nice day" and he went on his merry way. I could not believe that just happened !
What's happening in your part of the world today ?

That would be stalking.
This indeed is a happening post but my teacher would tell me not to repeat the same word in a composition (lol)

I did the repeating on purpose . . . my way of trying to be funny .
Strange that he would just pop up like that, right? I don't think he was following me, but still it was a bit creepy how he happened to have a coupon that I could use (normally there are not coupons for produce anywhere). Hmmmm .

Things lie that are always nice..One time outside of Aldi a lady gave me a coupon for 5.00 off items in the store. I said yay, and thank you of course!

@much2say I've seen those before, but often ignore them.

@kaylachan I don't use coupons much anymore so I don't really know what's out there these days in the way of coupons.

The past month I bought a celery in a store where I do not often go, it was not cheap, looked good and I bought. The day after I saw exactly the same celery (same brand) at Aldi at half the price. I bought at Aldi too, so I got an average price.

Isn't shopping such a gamble sometimes? The price difference at stores is incredible sometimes (sometimes worth it, sometimes not). The celery I paid for wasn't the best, but I needed it . . . but for 40 cents off I could live with it .

That is certainly surprising so you got lucky he did not need celery. I was just working on my PC all day.

That did surprise you ! At first, I thought he wanted to trade the 40 cent off coupon for your 40 cent in cash.It was so nice of him to give you the coupon gratis !

Oh, how nice! I was worried where your story was going... I'm glad it was an innocent happening.
I drove to Springfield this morning to be vampired for tests again then came home and drove Pretty to Joplin to see her specialist. We got home about an hour ago and I'm catching up on myLot before I take a nap. I'm tired!
I hope the rest of your week goes as nicely as your errand trip did.

Yah, I was ready to karate chop this guy if he tried anything . It was such a strange, random slice of life - just had to share the true story!
Oh man, a busy day for you two! The driving and waiting and all the procedures can really zap you of your energy . . . how did it all go? I hope you get a nap in or at least get to sleep a bit earlier.
Thank you! I've just been very busy lately - kids stuff at school and just have lots to think about with life in general lately. We are good though. What's up with you guys? I hope you have a wonderful week!

@DaddyEvil Haiiiiiiii - YA! Karate Chop Mama! And if we were in the meat section, I would have thrown pork chops .
I'm keeping my fingers crossed about all your blood work. Glad to hear Pretty had a good appointment. Please tell her I said hi! So did you get that nap in? I certainly didn't get mine in.
How are your eyes doing? Ah, so you officially filed . . . I'ma gonna keep my fingers crossed about that going through too. It would be fantastic if your lawyer is right . . . I'm hoping it all goes your way .
Yah. I've been poking my head in here and there, but I couldn't get to much on myLot. You know eventually I'll come crawling back . I'm glad I got to chat with you a bit today .

@much2say I could see the headlines now... Mother of two karate chops nice man shopping!
We won't find out about the blood tests for about a week but Pretty said her appointment went very well.
You're welcome. Any time I don't see you here, I figure life has caught up with you again.
We filed for me to get disability because of my eyes swelling up. The lawyer thinks the judge will grant it.
Thanks.

@much2say I forgot I had read this post already and reread it just now . Our grocery store has the worst condition for produce. The head of lettuces were all brown. Their celery was all floppy. Even the bagged lettuce mixes weren’t in the best of shape but I bought two as that was the best I could get. I really like celery in my salads though so I was frustrated over that.
