Circus At The Grocery Store Today!

Well, not really an official circus, but memorable in a big way.
I drove to Aldi with my list. Usually go there the first week of the month, but I was sick then, so it ended up being today instead. I try to shop mid-afternoon when I go there, as the store is not as crowded then, and it wasn't.
As soon as I got my cart and went inside, I got behind a young couple. Very young. She might have been 16 and he was about that, too. I didn't get too close to them, because, well...of what she was wearing. Or rather, what she wasn't wearing! She had on a skimpy top and a pair of super short super tiny shorts. I am not trying to be graphic but trust me when I say there was absolutely not one thing left to imagine that a person couldn't see. I was so shocked I think I just stalled out for a bit.
A tornado blew past me in the form of a middle-aged, nice-looking gentleman. He grabbed that young lady by the back of her shirt and screamed, ''what do you think you're doing, out dressed like this?? You taking up pole dancing? '' Oh, he was so angry! He just told her to get herself out of there right away, she was going home and she was grounded. She started in on how she thought she would grocery shop for the boyfriend...but that didn't fly with Dad.
I'm not sure I would have reacted that way, but I can sure understand it. I heard him say, I buy you hundreds of dollars' worth of clothing every time we go shopping and this is what you go out in public in?
I sort of have a feeling she will be grounded for a very long time. No, I didn't take a picture!!

Oh, I know he shouldn't have. I think he was so beyond embarrassed, but yes, he went about it the wrong way. I am sure he regretted it later.

Hard to contain one's anger when faced with that kind of situation. I think Americans' attitude about disciplining their children is too lenient. I belong to the old tradition of "spare the rod and spoil the child". Oh, how my legs and butt stung in my youth.

We were just taught differently, I think. There were just things you didn't do, and showing some parts of your body in public was just not accepted.

You'd think that most young girl would dress like that, but here they are way older woman and they wear such short shorts that disgust me seeing such thing. It's like they never heard of long pants or jeans before.I mean you can wear short but not that short where your tush is out as well, now that is a bit tad over in public mall and restaurant, don't you think?

Honestly, this young lady was really flaunting her,,,um, assets? LOL. But truthfully, it made even old ME embarrassed to even be there to see what she had rigged herself up in. It just wasn't good.

I know I am far from being a prude, but then I may be sort of old fashioned, in my view of things at times. I just think she had to know she was offensive. And yes, older or actually any age at all, as Dad used to say, cover the pertinent parts!

@MarieCoyle At least she's young in her mind and following celeb trend but what about those older one who show their asset at their age.I wonder what's they're excuse.

Ohhh, I am glad it was her dad, at first I was thinking it was just some random guy. Good for the dad I say!

He was really upset with her. He was embarrassed, too. Everyone who saw her just stopped and stared at her, they couldn't help themselves.

It was a way to NOT be dressed (or undressed, however you term it!) in public. It made me embarrassed to even be a female.

What a shame! She thought she's at home or in the beach. She's thought as liberated she controls the world. That's why rapists are lurking somewhere.
