I EARN QUITE A LOT BUT NOT HAPPY WITH LIFE :(

It feels like I am living a prisoner's life locked in my house. Should I be happy just because I earn decent money? My life has become sort of boring post pandemic. I hardly go out and crave for my friend's company. I used to be a very outgoing person. But now my work life changed and so did my life. :(

Do you work from home? It has happened to most people, their social life has been cut off. You should find out some time for yourself and should go to your friend's place or should call them. It all depends on how you manage your time.

Hi. Thank you so much for your concern. I used to work in a different city but after COVID, my company asked me to work from home. So, I came back. Most of my childhood friends are still in different cities. So, no one to hang out with. :(

@Sheali Hmm...you can always start your life from zero. You can start making friends here where you are living.

I am so sorry to know this. You simply must go out, you are young. And to have fun with your friends. I am glad to hear you earn good money though! This time will pass surely.

Many here who know me would be shocked to hear me say money isn't everything. But money really isn't everything. I am not going to say I love my job, but I also do not hate it. The thing is, not only do I earn a very good living, but I have invested long enough and well enough through my life that I also can afford to leave if I choose to. Money isn't everything, but the one thing it does provide is the ability to choose for ourselves what we want to do and where we want to be. If the good money is only offering misery to you, it's not worth it, and hopefully you have enough saved away to be able to afford to decide to do something else, even if it pays a little less. If you have spent it all, you may be stuck.

@Sheali Oh. From your post I did not get that at all. Maybe you can ask to return to the office? I mean, Covid is over and has been for a long time now. lol

I can leave my job too. But I really love my job. The thing is as I am working from home now, I really miss my co-workers and my childhood friends are in different cities.

You have to work very hard to earn money? Remember you should have a work-life balance. Otherwise, what's the point of earning decent money if you cannot enjoy life.

I agree. Actually now I am working from home and all my friends are in different cities. I used to work in a different city too. But now I don't have any friends in my home town. So basically no one to hang out with.

it was like that with me when I moved to another country three years ago, I didn't know anyone, I didn't know the language, then this quarantine, I started having panic attacks, but with the help of a psychologist I overcame it

All in all job is very important. There are millions of people searching day and night for that job you may see it boring. We are in very trying times whereby unemployment levels is at its peak world wide. The best thing you can do if you find yourself in such a scenario is to balance and manage your time wisely. Try to find out some time out of that busy schedule to interact with your friends and hang out with them even for a short time it can help. Quitting is always not the solution. Because in life there is always two sides of a coin. For this case you can choose from being broke but have plenty and ample time to spend with friends to having the money but lacking the time to spend with your friends.
