A group of us TBI-conquerors made it to Red River, NM, a day or two before the church-retreat there started (in order to better acclimate ourselves to the high altitude). And our head-counselors' 'injury-anniversary' (not a TBI, but it had torn her up enough to be a recovery worth celebrating) was that day, so she suggested we go to a local bar-&-grill for dinner. I guess there were 9 or 10 angels there that night--if you include 'the man who paid our group's tab that night' and 'the 3 or 4 members of the band playing that night' (bassist, lead-guitar, singing drummer, and their accountant)--and a lot of angels among the tab-coverer's associates up there for an EMS-conference ... but I want to focus on the 5 I met as a fellow conqueror & I played 'barroom Jenga' there. I don't know how he got in on the game, but I asked to join in. While I was playing, I met The Five Angels---five women who just felt like going on a road trip to Red River, NM, (& other mountain-getaways, probably) for the weekend(s): Diane, Jill, Michelle, Cathy, & Sabrina (I might be spelling the names wrong, and 'Sabrina' might actually be "Samantha" ) It was there that I "invented" a 'line' (what 'a younger Jay' would've called a "pick-up line," though there was never a chance I'd be 'picking up' anything but "this memory I'm sharing"): "Now that I've met you, I believe in angels!" (usually told to them in a booming voice during an embrace, in order to be heard over the loud bar-music)
