I'm so over 2-factor authentication

We had to install a program on our personal cell phones and/or district-issued Chromebooks back in June for 2-factor authentication. Apparently the cost of insurance for the district's cybersecurity was prohibitive without using 2-factor authentication.
There was a revolt among the staff in my building which wasn't surprising. We are known to stand up for ourselves and installing and using programs on our personal cell devices is not part of our contract. That is when the district quickly backpedaled and said we could install it on our Chromebooks. Yeah that was a hot mess and so many people effed up the installation due to poor instructions. I finally gave up and tried to install the app on my iPhone. I didn't realize that it worked until day 1 when I logged into the grading program.
I received an alert on both my iPhone and Apple Watch asking me to approve the log-in. This happens every time I try to log in on the grading program on the classroom desktop, the Chromebook, or on my personal laptop here at the apartment. It is annoying but at least easy to approve it on my watch. I feel badly for those who have to use their Chromebooks constantly for authentication.

It can sometimes make me want to pull my hair out, too. But, I'm thankful for it. I don't know how many times it's prevented someone from getting into one of my accounts.

It's a shame that today's situation makes it necessary for us to be so cautious.
