Do you ride a motorcycle?

So in the comment section of one of my discussions, I and @moffittjc talked about motorcycles. Which made me curious about motorcycle riding people in different countries.
I just read in the news that Jakarta, Indonesia has the most number of motorcycles . Indonesia's capital is considered as one of the worst places for traffic. Why? Because there you can find 15 million motorcycles riding daily around the city. Undoubtedly exceeding the number of cars, right?
Here in my city, motorcycles seem to be the easiest way of transportation. Every family owns one, I guess. People use their motorcycles to go the office or supermarket. Or to send their kids to school. Not to mention delivery riders. Yesterday while driving around I saw a lot of motorcycles in the highway, some riders feeling like they are at a motorcross race. Crazy people.
Of course safety precautions are needed. Then I saw this photo.

I am not biker, I only ride bike for local work here. That's it. I can't ride it for long distance for sure. Once I was shifting from one city to another, so I tried to move it by my self and on second day I got fever.
One of my cousin is really good in this thing. He has traveled more than 3000 KM with bikers few years back. May be more than that.

It's the man without helmet while his Tee shirt has the words just opposite to what he is doing. I was learning to ride a bike but now I don't and all are bikes have been sold.

That is an interesting picture you got in there. The shirt says that wearing a helmet is important yet the rider itself wasn't wearing one.. But I think a motorcycle is indeed a very good alternative to buying a car for transport. I think that the main advantage of that is the size you can easily swerve and skip traffic since you only occupy smaller space on the road. The next advantage is parking you can practically park it almost anywhere that parking is allowed and you just need to find a small space for that.

Where is this guy's helmet ?!
My dad used to ride a motorcycle in Japan . . . he said he fell off a bridge (couldn't have been that big) so he said he would never allow us to ride one. And we didn't. We see a bunch of motorcyclists on our street . . . many of them make very risky moves and you bet there are a lot of accidents. Abunai !

I have been fond of them, but have never ridden one. I HAVE ridden a moped, but that doesn't count. Most of the "motorcycles" I see in other countries I'd not likely call a motorcycle. Maybe it is the American in me, but if it is not a Harley, it's a bike. lol

Yes. Any vehicle is a necessity now especially when the pandemic came. when lockdowns prohibited public transportation then. I wished I had a bicycle or a motorcycle during that time because it was very difficult to walk to town to buy groceries and things we need when only private vehicles are allowed. This year I was able to do motorcycling lessons and plan to buy a motorcycle suited for me as a woman.

I would never ride on a motorcycle. Nearly everyday in the news I read about people getting killed in motorcycle accidents.

In California, where I live, there are many motorcycles on the road, but way more cars. I see maybe one motorcycle per 1000, or perhaps 10,000, cars. But when I listen to accidents reports, they often involve motorcycles. I have ridden motorcycles, but I would never take one on a freeway. Too dangerous. My book is not yet done.
