I’m actually not sure if I posted about this fruit before. (Can you tell me if I did?)
Anyway, my very generous neighbor has this big fruit bearing tree in front of his house. At certain times of the month, the fruits become ripe and start giving off this sweet-smelling scent which attract a lot of insects. And people too. Other neighbors would circle his house and wait for him to harvest the fruits and ask for a piece. Lol That’s just the way it is here. Yesterday was the day and I could take pictures before he sliced the fruits into portions and gave them away to the waiting neighbors. Lol
Clue: this may be named after Uncle Jack.

Yes, I recognize those fruits... Do you know what they are?
I don't remember you writing a discussion about this type of fruit but I remember that @allknowing has written about them before.

You know, it looks like Jack fruit. A site I found says jack fruit has 21 varieties, one sweet one, Chirappuran clusterjack, is sweet.

Ok. Not sure, but if there's a farmers market, you go to, show it's picture, they should know for sure. I know, maybe your Mom or Aunt, might know too? Good luck!

This is the jack fruit, but I like the curry of the raw ones not the ripe jack fruit. Their smell makes me feel squamy.

@sol_cee Yes, it's overpowering indeed and so I keep away from the ripe ones.
