I really enjoy listening to a cleverly written tune by an artist/band who takes a break from writing about serious issues to record a song with a funny/silly/unusual lyrics or title. Afterall, even a serious songwriter has a sense of humor. So, I was pleasantly surprised to discover the number of songs I really liked when putting together this series. Let's see how many of them you find enjoyable as well... Funny songs about animals or unusual people are a topic many artists enjoy writing about. Here are some selections I found peculiarly funny, but so catchy I wound up singing along to the chorus... See if you remember these silly, but delightful tunes. Comments, musings, your own favorite funny songs and trivia welcome... 1. Quinn the Eskimo- Manfred Mann -This song was actually written by the iconic Bob Dylan but was first recorded by Manfred Mann. A great choice by the group as the song hit the #1 spot on the charts. The band has no idea what this vague song is about, but one theory was it was based on the actor Anthony Quinn who played an Eskimo in the film The Savage Innocents. 2. Cat Scratch Fever- Ted Nugent -Nugent wrote this tune about a man's and woman's desire for sex. He likens the feeling to getting a disease from being scratched by a cat. The cat in the lyrics represents the woman. Not So Fun Fact: There is actually an infectious disease caused by a cat's scratch that usually affects young children. 3. Sunshine Superman- Donovan -This #1 hit from 1966 was one of the first ever overtly psychedelic pop records. The word "Sunshine" is a reference to Acid. The song is about wanting to be with his old girlfriend again, but Donovan uses some very trippy imagery to describe his feelings. Donovan had the honor of being the first to have a hit song with the word "Superman" for a title. Fun fact: Jimmy Page played lead guitar on this. Page was a session musician at the time. TRIVIA CHALLENGE ***Now for our trivia music challenge for those who like to play along. See if you can guess these selections and the bonus... Words in "quote marks" provide valuable clues! Name today's tune, artist or facts: 1. If you watched the video and paid attention this one should be as easy as pie...Eskimo Pie that is. -What "TV show" did the Manfred Mann band appear on to perform the song "Quinn the Eskimo?" The name of the club rhymes with "Heat." - One of the band members played a "woodwind instrument" during certain parts of the song. Do you know "what instrument" he was playing? 2. This song was recorded by those "fab four musicians" from Liverpool, England. The song was about a "sea creature" with "8 arms (tentacles)." These intelligent creatures actually find shiny objects to create their own "garden." The band's drummer was so impressed by this story he wrote a song wishing he could be "under the sea in that garden in the shade." -Do you know the name of this iconic British group and their funny-titled song? 3. Warren Zevon wrote a song about "a man who turns into a wolf" when there is a "full moon." The only way to kill him is to "shoot it through the heart with a silver bullet." This song is filled with crazy funny lyrics like seeing this wolf "with a Chinese menu in his hand." Some other clever lines... "He's the hairy-handed gent who ran amok in Kent" and "You better stay away from him, He'll rip your lungs out, Jim." The song's chorus features an "Aaoooooo howl." -Do you know the name of Warren's silly, unusual, tune about a man who turns into an animal at night? Ok, "no funny stuff" when solving these songs and artists. If you're stuck and need additional hints just let me know in your response. Or as The Temptations would say... "Don't be too Proud to Beg." Thanks for reading and responding to my music post!!! I will return with a new edition soon. Hope you can wait till then, lol. Stay tuned... Source- Wikipedia & songfacts.com

A funny song composed by my favorite boy band, BTS, is Super Tuna. It's a fun song for kids for change since almost their songs deal with loving yourself and the injustices in society and the world in general. I'm sorry I don't know the answer to your trivia questions. Here's the YT music video if you want to watch it.
