The longest we were without power was 4 days, it was in the summer thank god it wasn't in the winter. We had a big deep freezer, we put bags of ice in it. But we lose everythingin it. We also lose everything in the frig. We want to a friends hosue for 2 days. Who just lived over the hill and they had power.

Isn't that dramatic? How much are we depending on elecrical power? I have huge supply of candles in my house. I have an emergency lights and blankets.
I have been without elecricity for about 24 hours.
I did lost my food, lot of it.
I was so happy and free from fear(aha)when I noticed that power is back on.

It was 2 days last year when we had an ice storm. It was pretty cold, we stayed with my mom. She was one of the few that kept it. Hers even would keep going out and come back on.

When I was kid there was a really bad ice storm here and it was out for close to a week. Thank goodness we had a gas stove. It was crazy and it sucked but all I really rememeber is that somehow my parents still managed to make it seem like an adventure, reading books by candlelight, the whole nine yards.
