My "payment" for helping my Nanny....

Hello everyone. Hope you're all doing well. I'm using today to catch up more on MyLot. I'm still here everyday, but not always active. The other day, my dad and I went to my Nanny's house. She needed help moving things around and cleaning some shelves that were too low for her. As my Poppy isn't living with her anymore, she is using this time to go through things and get rid of things she doesn't need or use. I'm glad she asked me if I could help her because I didn't want her going on the ground so low to bring all these heavy things out. So I brought everything out, wiped down the shelves and put back what she wanted to keep. She kept saying to me that she would give me money. I told her "No thank you, it was a quick job but either way I don't want you to pay me for helping." To that we had about a 10 minute friendly argument about it. She is sweet to offer but I didn't want money for helping her. I couldn't! My dad then entered the room and was going through something else for my Nan (his mum) and he found all of these candles. My Nan said "Oh we can throw them out too, I won't use them." To which she decided to give them to me because I LOVE candles. I said to her "There we go, that can be my payment." I think it's fine in a lot of cases to take payment but otherwise, I just can't. I remember when I was younger I found someone's phone and the mother offered to give me money for getting in touch with her but I didn't want it. I didn't want to be paid for helping another person. ****photo is of the candles**** - No idea what shape I was trying to do. Kinda looks like a big candle or a cake.
