What a couple of days it has been! We have had thunderstorms and downpours for the past 2 days. One thunderstorm finally kicked off our power. The standby generator went on without a hitch. However, when it turned off, power was off in various parts of the house and the furnace kept turning on and off. We finally had to turn off the heat. The TV was freezing up every 30 seconds; and some of the lights were on half power. Prior to that we had a Spectrum outage -- no TV, internet or phone.
I left a message for the guy from Champion, forgetting to leave my cell number since the landline phone was out. When he called and couldn't get an answer, he called the police to come and check on us. Imagine our surprise when a policeman knocked on our door!!!
The man from Peerless Electric (the ones who installed the generator) came this morning and said that a switch that was supposed to switch the system over had failed. They will order a new switch; and it should be in in a week. Sheesh!
Breakfast - Protein bar
Lunch - Meals on Wheels - Chicken Alfredo, noodles, cauliflower, broccoli and pears -- They had a couple of extra meals; and I said we could use them.
Dessert/Snack - Chocolate chip muffin and decaf coffee
Dinner - Chicken nuggets and potato salad - @porwest turned us on to the Deviled Egg Potato Salad from Walmart -- it was very good.
What did you eat yesterday?

We were so happy when the generator kicked on. Little did we know there would be so many problems. I hope they can fix the problem.

Glad the generator worked. Hope that is fixed soon.
It would be a surprise to have a cop at the door but very nice of them to send him to check.

Yes, it was really cool when the power went out. The generator kicked on in less than 30 seconds.

I´m still after my nap. For lunch Leticia and I made an awesome chicken soup with a potato for each and rice. I ended up adding too much water to the soup so we took some out and had a consomme first.

Monday was Chuy’s for lunch and a sammich & soup for dinner.
I’m thankful you probably won’t need the generator before it’s repaired. Have you been watching the scant live feeds still up in Key West?

Yes. Watched the gigantic waves at the Southernmost Point buoy, flooding at Front Street and Mallory, heavy rain on Duval Street...
