Invasive plants

In one discussion recently @JudyEv mentioned that bracken is an invasive plant in parts of Australia. We don’t have much trouble with bracken just here, but we do have another type of invasive plant – our wisteria is constantly trying to join us inside the house! Here it is growing into the bathroom – even though the window is firmly closed! And I did prune it in early summer too! All rights reserved. © Text and image copyright Fleur 2022.

@Ronrybs At least it doesn't actually grip onto the walls.

It is the climbing plant's "customary tactic ".You have to admit that they have dogged vitality.

I'm surprised it is so keen to grow inside, away from the light!

That is sure one determined plant, determined to come inside.

It wasn't going to let a simple thing like a closed window stop it!

Wisteria is invasive, but beautiful. I have Japanese pink honeysuckle that is doing the same. I prune twice a year.

This gets pruned twice a year too, maybe that isn't enough!

@Fleura - May be, they seem to have a spirit of their own, they grow so fast.

That is indeed invasive that they wanted to go inside the house already. Maybe it liked a warm place to stay when it is cold outside.

That plant could invade not only your bathroom but the whole roof if not pruned.

It certainly tries! Sometimes it almost covers the window and it gets quite dark inside!
