Thanks to the actions of Monroe City Police Department officer Jordan Patterson who answered an emergency call from a mother who needed his services to assist her to save her daughter who stopped breathing on Monday afternoon on September 5 after she swallowed something that caused her to stop breathing .
Officer Patterson used his first aid training to pat the little girl on her back for a few minutes when the dad of the little girl suctioned cupped what was in her mouth until the object fell out of her mouth so she could breathe once again.
Officer Patterson credits the infant's father, his fellow officers as well as emergency personnel to assist him in saving the life of the infant whose name was not released .
The infant was taken by an ambulance to a local hospital to be treated for her breathing problems.
Officer Patterson admitted that he was in the right place at the right time when the emergency call came just before his work shift came to an end.

Where are all these parents looking and how do they not know the risks of an infant with something they could swallow

I share the same feelings since Officer Patterson admitted that the training of using first aid during his training at the police academy paid off.
