I noticed there was a new movie on Netflix about Marilyn Monroe's life so I watched it earlier. I have seen so many documentaries and movies about her short life that were less than credible. I began watching it wondering whether this one would just be one more badly done storytelling of this poor woman's life. But, I was very pleasantly surprised for this one was very good. It was very well done. The actress that portrayed Marilyn, Ana De Armas, was extraordinary. There were times that I couldn't tell at first if it wasn't really her.
I have seen a lot of docs and movies about her life and I think that this one stands alone as the best. I also think this one is the most accurate of all of them. The story unfolds in such a way that it really seems like what actually happened from her mother and her early treatment and abuse to her first husband and what he does to her later. Her continued obsession with her father seems very normal. What she learns about the letter she got from him is so sad. I think it showed what probably really happened with Kennedy too. (She was treated like a prostitute.) I don't blame her for the anger she expressed. It is just all so realistic. It left me very satisfied and feeling as if I had just seen the true story of Marilyn Monroe.
The photography was very well done too. One of the executive producers was Brad Pitt. If you are a fan of hers you really should catch this movie if you can.

There have been several documentaries and there was a tv movie about her. All of them didn't know what happen with the Kennedys and such and this movie depicts one of the Kennedys having her almost kidnapped and brought into his hotel room so she could down on him in a hotel room while he was on the phone and then she was shuffled off back home.

Thanks for the review and critique. I have a movie recorded about Marilyn that is played by Michelle Williams. Have you seen that one? Can't remember the name of it. One of these days I will watch it.
