This happened one other time, but it was not as bad as this one was. I continued on with my walk, but wasn't able to go as far as I wanted to. I was a bit afraid of a recurrence, plus it was sore. I was limping a bit.. I hope it is just the wrong shoes or something, and not something more serious, I was wearing decent shoes today though, maybe not ideal, but good enough for that. Geez, it's either my knee bugging me, or this...welcome to old age I guess! Have you ever had a pain while exercising?

I have read that a lack of potassium can give you muscle cramps

This was like a major cramp. My leg is still a little bit sore from it happening. I know someone told me one time, and this was a young person, a friend of hers got a severe cramp or charleyhorse in her leg out of the blue..and she fell on the ground. You could actually see the skin sucked in from where the muscles had tightened. I mean it wasn't that bad, but it wss plenty painful.

@snowy22315 When these pains strike you suddenly you can fall down. That’s what I think about this catch. I know I’d fall if it lasted more than a second. So be careful.

This happens with age and if you are not old that is a cause for concern

I am sure you get plenty of exercise just with your day to day things especially when you are on a farm!

@snowy22315 Walking that kelpie has seen a huge increase in our daily 'step' count.

One reason that you have a problem with the knee could be the change in the weather.

Ocean T's response could be one reason for cramps. Another would be if you were not hydrated enough. When I had a varicose vein issue, I would get cramps in my legs and calf. Maybe blood supply is compromised or perhaps it was just a fluke occurrence. Anyway, hope it's a onetime thing.

Gee, I hope so. It is a lot better, but still I noticed it today walking around. I am going to be walking again on Thursday...fingers crossed. I will drink beforehand and wear an ace bandage for support plus some shoes designed for running, hopefully that will keep me safe. I could have strained a muscle too. Normally where I feel it is in my ankles though.

@snowy22315 Well, you're taking all the necessary precautions. Remember ease into it and take "one step at a time."

Yes, I have had those sometimes (not recently, fortunately) when I am in bed..seems to happen if I stretch my leg too far, so I am careful with that.
