Only one more sleep till we leave here

It’s fine and sunny here and we’re beginning to gather our things together ready to leave our house-sit in the morning. The owners won’t be home till late but we’ll feed the dogs and walk them before we leave. On the way home we have to call into the Hearing Aid Centre to get more batteries for Vince’s hearing aids. Until then, I can say what I like and he can’t hear me!

We’ve also had a calendar made up for the owners of the Yabberup property, We go back there next Monday. We rang them yesterday and unfortunately the ewe that was fly-blown had to put down last Friday. And they haven’t seen Qwacka the duck since we left. Vince will miss saying good morning to Qwacka. Hopefully he is just having a little sojourn up or down the river somewhere. We also need a new battery for the caravan as we’re going to Denmark (WA town, not the country) on Thursday for the last endurance ride of the season. Hope you’re all having a good day. The photo is of Qwacka and luckily it's included in the calendar.

It's a shame about the ewe but in the end she just couldn't be saved. I'm glad whatever it was is 'all good' now.

The dogs were a bit of a worry. The sheep-dog needed a lot of exercise. I doubt his owner ever let him out much.

I think maybe the ewe had something else wrong with her as well. Even when she had recovered from the fly-strike, she was losing weight very quickly,
