Update on my retirement

In a weeks time I will finally be retiring from my job. A day before my birthday. This one week I will be busy finishing all the formalities. And since I have been working from home for many months I will have to go to the office to give a handover of all papers and also the office laptop. Some friends have planned a party for me and am awaiting details of the date and venue. Happy retirement to me.

In my organization the retirement age is 58. Many places it is 60.

@mayka123 Ok.In the US is 65. They won't pay pension until you are 65 years.

I am looking forward to the freedom specially because my present boss had given me a lot of trouble this last one year. I had always planned to continue working after retirement but after my boss changed last year I gave up the idea of continuing here.

Yes I would be happy not having a 9 to 5 job anymore. Looking for options to work from home and hope I get something soon.

I am young

as long as I feel young. Only my birth certificate says I am old. Retirement is indeed a big milestone. And after working for nearly 40 years I deserve a break.

I have been retired for years and am happy with the transition. Nowadays we can keep ourselves busy pursuing our passion and interests. Of course, we need income to have a peaceful life. Wish you happiness in the next phase of life.

I am sad coz I will miss my friends but happy I dont have to interact with my boss anymore. My new boss had made my life miserable this last one year hence I did not ask for an extension from my job.
