Do you like variety or are you pretty routine?

Right now I am talking about meals.
I am never sure what I will have for breakfast, because I like variety. I might even have leftovers from the night before.
Today I made a two egg omelette with cheddar cheese. Side of sausages. I topped it with avocado salsa for "zing'
Today I went "high protein" because I know I will swim later with my student. Other days I want something high carb, maybe a little sweet. My mom wanted the exact same thing every morning and that is what we got as well.
Me, I want variety.

As much as I eat at Chuy’s????
I’ve lost 35 pounds eating what I love, so why change.

I am not familiar with Chuy's. I think if we eat what we love for meals, we are less susceptible to the mindless munchies that pack on pounds.

When it comes to meals I like variety. I tend to cook the same things but try to create them in different ways. I think eating the same thing every day for breakfast would be boring.

It is boring. I think that is why I do such variety now. Even "the same thing" as you said, can be prepared a different way.

I like to know what I'm going to be eating but, don't want the same thing all the time. That's why I make so many leftovers and freeze them. I can still enjoy a variety but not have to put in very much work at it.
Dad always wanted biscuits and gravy for breakfast. I still won't eat gravy... We kids had to eat it just because dad wanted it.

I am like you. I like to have a stash of frozen leftovers. Love biscuits and gravy but I did not get it growing up.

@GardenGerty I like to make biscuit dough and line muffin cups with the dough and fill the insides with cooked beef or sausage with different veggies and then cook the biscuit cups. Yummy!

Sometimes I like variety and sometimes I could eat the same thing every day. For example, when my husband retired on disability, he made a PB&J sandwich and a banana every day for me when I came home from work. I always looked forward to that lunch.

That kind of routine is good and very understandable.

Depends on the mood. Sometimes, I crave something simple. Other times I feel like experimenting and being creative. Then sometimes it ends up tasting great but many times it either tastes bad (not that often lol) or it simply falls short of my dreamy expectations, but that's on me.
I still like experimenting, so for me, I like variety, just not necessarily too much of it I guess.

Hi, welcome aboard. Sometimes for me it is the time involved. Especially for breakfast. I can be a very experimental cook.

I like variety and have an adventuresome palate. With so many delicious foods to eat, I don't see the point in eating the same thing all the time. I think you get more nutrition from a varied plate anyway.

That is a really good point about the nutrition. I do try to start with a good protein breakfast if I know I will be having a challenging day.

Sometimes you eat what you have on hand or what you can afford.

I had one egg, one strip of bacon and one piece of toast. At that time it was less expensive than cereal. Oh, and if we had it, four ounces of orange juice. I get to choose now as an adult.

I am happy to have leftovers because it is much less work. I might, however, eat those leftovers for my breakfast.

So do I. Hubby tends to find something he likes and eat it over and over.

Yes, definitely. Growing up it was always the same but as an adult I can have my own way.

I've never been one to follow the crowd. I do like the rather traditional breakfasts, but so often they are so big and heavy to start out the day. My go-to is a poached egg and toast or an English muffin. But sometimes I have leftovers, or my own homemade soups, or something not traditional.
Sometimes, not often, we fix breakfast for dinner. It's good no matter what time we eat it.

Oh, I can identify with all of those options. I find that breakfast is a good time for me to have foods hubby does not like, as he seldom is up to eat it with me.

I like variety for lunch and dinner, but I prepare more or less the same breakfast every day. Often it is toasted bread with butter and jam. Sometimes English muffin and cream cheese, during warmer days, yogurt with berries and different fruits. We have not the habit of heavy breakfast with sausages and eggs.

I like variety for lunch and dinner, but I have more or less same breakfast everyday. Oatmeal with milk, an egg and a slice of toast. Occasionally, I have Chinese congee with fried noodles.
