My husband told me awhile ago for his birthday he wanted a big thing of vegetables for dinner.
I have corona too I don’t feel good and have taken care of the baby 24-7 while he’s slept or rested. I’ve picked up after him and kept the house clean.
I told him today I can’t go to the store to get what he wants but I can have someone go get what he wants if he wants to cook it or get take out. I said I’m not a good enough cook and don’t feel good.
He said he wants vegetables. I said he could get Chinese and there’s some vegetables in it. He said he doesn’t want that crap that’s all we ever eat is junk.
I never buy takeout and I make most things from scratch. I made homemade sloppy joes last night for dinner and that was too much for me standing so long to prepare it and cook it then bathe the baby and do laundry. None of the guys liked it anyway .
I’ve tried hard to make better meals. I’m a vegetarian no one else is.
I kept track of what I’ve made to try to repeat things that are good or review what’s not.
9-18
- Creamed potatoes & peas (I had to make half with peas and half with bacon)
- honey bbq flavored chicken wings (frozen and cooked in air fryer)
- Cranberry sauce
- Whole kernel southwest corn w poblano & red peppers (can I heated up)
9-20
- Meatloaf
- Cheesy garlic green beans
- Curly fries and seasoned fries
- Leftover creamed potatoes and peas for me
9-21
- Leftover meatloaf
- Ronzoni baked Mac and cheese
- boiled frozen carrots
- Leftover creamed potatoes w bacon
9-26
- Cheesy asparagus pasta
- Sour cream rice
- Leftover Fresh fruit platter (no one but me ate any my husband said he’s not big on fruit)
- Chicken spiedies
My husband said this meal was a lot of carbs he would of done a big dish of vegetables.
Photo is of the rash I have on my stomach today. Ignore my ugly hernia. My husband has a sore on his tongue and on his lip. I’m very nauseated today.

I am sorry it may be his birthday but you don’t feel good and if he wants what he wants he can make it himself.

@Tina30219 I agree. He went and got Burger King which I would have gladly gone and picked up for him but he gave me attitude about it when he brought it home. God forbid I need to rest at all during this virus yet that’s all he has done for 3 days.

There are times when you have to postpone a birthday party or the like. It so happens when you are ill.

@marguicha oh we definitely aren’t getting together with anyone but he wants a meal for his birthday. I’m on the couch while the baby is sleeping. This is the most I’ve gotten to rest in days. I can’t lay here long I have to go do housework.

"Chicken spiedies" ... are those the kind with that marinade from upstate New York?

@mythociate yep it’s funny because when I shop in NY I can get the marinade for them at Walmart an Aldis but in PA it’s not there.

@mythociate It originated about an hour or two from Albany. There’s a few spiedie places in the area but I’ve never eaten at them. Being a vegetarian I have no interest and my son who lives spiedies never wanted to go.

@shaggin I didn't know they even distributed THAT far; I only ever got it when we went to visit my dad's family up in Albany, usually from local shops there.

@LadyDuck I offered to have someone get them and he could make them or I could have someone pick up food from a restaurant for me but he left to do stuff and came bag and tossed two bags of Burger King on the table. I gave him a card and he said I didn’t have to give him money and I said I didn’t have a gift for him or any idea what to get him. He said I could have gotten him dinner that it about how much he spent. I told him I was going to but left and came back with the burger king. Sometimes he’s just such a spoiled brat.
I’m positive it’s not shingles. That starts smaller and doesn’t cover the whole abdomen so fast like his has done to me. I’ve seen many Facebook friends share photos of their kids Covid rashes that look like mine.

@shaggin - I fully agree that your husband can be a spoiled brat, men are often like that. They play the victims and when they are unwell we must be there for them, but they are of no help when we do not feel well.
I had shingles in that area and I remember that it started small and did not cover the whole abdomen, you are right. I did not know that Covid can give this kind of rash.

@LadyDuck many people refer to men having man colds. Both of the husbands I’ve had are/were terrible that way. My husband was just the biggest grump yesterday I’m glad the day is over. Hopefully today he will be different.
Yes my first husband had shingles and it was very different so I knew it isn’t that. His was very painful as well. This rash doesn’t itch or anything but last night it move up to my neck and arms. The nausea that came with it i worse. Day 5 now crossing my fingers we will be better soon.

@DaddyEvil that’s good you share the chores and don’t just expect her to do it because she’s the woman. I could make the kids help out more but I can handle it for now. When the baby is older and I return to work I will have to have more help around here and will have to have them do some of the chores. I don’t want my house to look like my husbands did though. He made his son do all the chores and the house was filthy.

@shaggin Not really... We just buy stuff we like and I throw together things we'll both eat when I feel like cooking. If Pretty wants something else, she is old enough to make her own meals.
And we share the cleaning chores around the house. You might try assigning some of the cleaning to the kids since he won't help you with it.

@sallypup it would mean I’d come home to a very filthy house If I did that . Better to keep up with things as best as I can. I just vacuum one room sit down for a few minutes to rest then go do another room. The dogs track in a lot of stuff on the floors so the babies clothes get dirty it’s so gross. My husband said he wants to go fishing for a bit at least maybe that’ll improve his mood.

Does he like salad? Couldn't you just get a big salad from somewhere?

@snowy22315 I made salads in mason jars so when he wants one he can just grab it. Has it touched them since I made them no. His had chicken so I dumped his today. There’s also corned beef and cabbage in there he made. The meat was $25 and my son doesn’t like it and my husbands not in the mood for it since he’s been sick. They didn’t like the sloppy joes. I don’t care if I don’t like something unless the foods so bad I gag on it I will eat it rather then waste it. I’m sick of food going to waste because they want to be picky. I eat pb&j so often because once I’ve made them food I’m too exhausted to work on something vegetarian for myself.

@snowy22315 when he complains there’s no vegetables I’ll mention that I made salads and he didn’t eat them.

@shaggin I mean just pick up a salad for him, and say that's it for now, until I feel better. If you don't take care of yourself, you can't take care of anyone else.

@allknowing yes last night making the homemade sloppy joes was to much for me. Tonight I just couldn’t make more food feeling even worse then I did yesterday. He bought Burger King but if you see my comment to LadyDuck you know he wasn’t all that nice about it. Oh well I am sick too not just him.

@jstory07 we don’t have anywhere in town that delivers but I could have sent someone to get whatever we wanted. He left to go fishing and came back with Burger King he had driven 10 miles to get. I would have done that for him if he told me that’s what he wanted to do. I was well enough to drive.

@oahuwriter that is nice of you to say. I try so hard to make nice meals and it never goes well with him. I feel like it’s not even worth bothering anymore but I know not doing it will be worse he will be really mad then I bet.
No I know I have Covid I’m not going to to the doctors and spread it around there. The best thing I can do is stay home away from everyone in public.

@oahuwriter I didn’t know that thanks. If I get so bad I feel I need medication I’ll give the doctor a call. I like to try to heal naturally I’m not a fan of medicine.

@CarolDM when I know it’s all I can do it’s frustrating how he acts. I can’t get much more accomplished today either. I get winded and feel faint if I stand up for very long. I had a lot of nausea today but that finally went away so I was able to eat leftovers just now.

@HomewardBound I feel like that’s him when it comes to my cooking. Days when he cooks he doesn’t make anything for me just him and the boys so he shouldn’t keep expecting so much out of me when I also have a little baby to tend to constantly while I’m trying to prepare a meal.
Thank you. I’m still nauseated today and can’t smell anything as of yesterday. Today I can taste very little.
